Scar Attempts Of The Witches Part One
The First Attempt
Scar had hardly left the house. She was on her bed curled up. She thought back to Beatrice and Britannia ane and how Morana looked at them. How she held them and how she hugged and kissed them like a mother should. She then thought about how she shot her and tried to kill her on multiple occasions. She then thought about how she beat her up.
She curled up tightly as she found herself crying again. Her mind went to how she left her saying that she was to deal with the witches alone and how she was to stay away from her family, almost like she had forgotten that she was her child too. Yet she knew that she would never get the side of Morana that they would get. No, she was stuck with a monster that wanted nothing more than her corpse. While they would get a mum. Soon ths crying turned to weeping.
Why? Why did she have to be their mum? Why does she treat them like daughters and not me too? Why did they make it sound like she was an angel Gabriel, when she’s been nothing but a devil to me? What did I do to earn such hatred? Why do they have the love when I have that?
No, it’s not their fault.
She heard a knock on the door. She opened her eyes and wiped away her tears. She got out of bed. She heard the knock again. She opened the door and ran down the stairs. The knock became louder and louder. She finally reached the door and looked through the peephole.
There, she saw all three of them. The Scarborough witches that had tormented her in the first years of her life and plagued her nightmares.
She took a step back. She could feel her heartbeat faster than the wings of a butterfly. Her breath became deep and fast like her lungs were finding it hard to get oxygen in them. She felt her body shake as she broke out into a cold sweat. She felt like she was in a dark room with the walls touching her at all sides.
She turned and ran. She ran to the right and then the left to the back door. She then ran to the fence and pulled herself up. She scraped her hand and right leg as her whole body flipped over and landed in the alley.
“Where do you think you’re going? Mythos Puros!” Asked one behind her.
She looked back to see Charnette Media, the youngest of the witches behind her. She had jet black hair and ice cold blue eyes, who had the cold beauty of someone in their mid twenties, even though she must have been in her late forties.
“My, how long has it been? Six, seven years? You’re growing into a beautiful young lady, just like your dear mother. I heard that you met her. Did she like you?”
At that Scar picked up a random beer can and threw it at her. Once it hit the witch she ran. She did not know where she was going nor did she care. She just wanted to get as far away from those witches as she could. She took a glance at Morana and the twins, a couple of streets ahead of her in the far distance. She, for a moment, was tempted to go to her and ask for her help, but knowing better, she ran to the right and down the street opposite. Only to be cut off by Damia Zaraida, the oldest. She had hair as white as her eyes which was snow. Yet her skin was grey and covered in wrinkles.
She ran down the alley and then to the right again. She looked back to see that the three of them were hot on her tail. She ran to the right and then to the left again and again and again. She looked back again to see that they were still running, yet they were almost upon her.
She saw a stone on the ground and quickly picked it up. Just as one reached out her hand to her, she hit the hand with the rock as hard as she could. She thrust hefleg into her stomach then slammed her hands into the back of her head.
She then ran on and on again and again and again. Then she felt her body slow down, almost like she was in the sea. The next moment she felt a hand reach her throat. She ducked and dived to the side and then picked up another couple of rocks. She then put them both in her hands. She threw one set. This was stopped and she threw the next set at them causing them to smash on impact.
She then ran on and on and on. She could feel that she was covered in sweat and her lungs were crying out for air. Yer she ran on and on. She did not dare stop. Not even when she felt her arms and legs ache. No. She kept going. She felt her throat was cold and felt like it had cuts in them. She felt her heartbeat at the speed of a cheetah now with the power to punch her chest. She continued to run. She felt like her legs and arms were about to drop off at any moment.
She looked back to see that they were not there. She stopped for a moment, then she felt a hand grab her from behind her neck. Then she felt pain enter every cell in her body. She screamed out in pain as she felt her tears fall down her cheek. She was paralyzed by the pain.
Help! Help! Someone, anyone help!
She felt the pain reach her mind. Then all that she could focus upon was the blinding pain that ran throughout her body. Then she felt her breath on the bend of her neck.
“Tell me, did you like the time you spent with your dear mother?”
At this Scar felt rage drive her fist to her face. She then went to hit her again and again and again. Then she felt her strike her cheek.
She ran on again. Then she saw a crowd ahead and ran into them. Then weaved herself in and out and down left and right. Then she saw a bus and took it.
She pulled her hood up and rested her head on the window in a way that Ephoh Alekto, the most observant of the three, could not see her face. So by the time that they were able to reach the end, Scar was already home.
Scar locked all the doors and collapsed on the doormat where she remembered Charnette’s taunts.
“Did she like you?”
No! She hates me! She wants me dead!
“Did you like the time you spent with your dear mother?”
Hardly! How can I? Every time we have met she’s hurt me!
She could feel her body ache all over as she curled herself up in a ball. She felt her body shaking as she found that she could no longer breathe as all she could do was weep. Her whole body convulsed as she struggled for air.
The worst part about it was she knew that they were not done and she had to deal with this completely alone and none was coming to save or protect her.
