 The Dark Lord Attacks  It had been an hour after noon and they were all feeling hot. Yet only Cerpheres had the common sense to take his clothes, save his underwear revealing a pale lean but muscular figure and, suspiciously, without a scar to be seen. Yet they all could feel the sun beating down upon them. They knew that they had to get back to making their raft and fixing all the damage that had been done. However they knew that they had to rest after the night and morning that they had, especially Bash. She needed the sleep the most. So they just rested for a moment as she slept.  Little Monsters Cerpheres dished out some fish when they looked at the broken raft and then at the broken ship in dismay. He let out a slight whine as he knew that if they did not get off this island he would not see any more greatness other than the ones that Bash and Chashathrophogh would show surviving this island.  Surviving The Monsters  It had been one full day of gathering both wood for a raft and a fire when the sun came down. Bash and Chashathrophogh lit the fire and looked at the wood. They all used their magic to fuse the wood together. Then they looked at the pouting Cerpheres as he gutted and put the fish he caught on a stick near the fire and let it cook away. “So, when do we set off?” “Tomorrow, first thing. Mermaids and mermen are usually busy eating or coming round from sleep during that time.” Both nodded. “You know, you sound like Zarry, right now. What's wrong?  Arrival Of The Monsters Bash looked at the horizon as she thought about how she used to have fiery red hair at the age of twelve only for it to quickly turn jet black by the time she was thirteen. It was dark and cloudy yet she could tell that there was going to be a storm.  Then she and Chashathrophogh looked down at a map to see that they were entering a black spot in the map. As they had to avoid a storm that had several tornadoes in the storm they knew that they had to risk it. So they had to divert their journey to this spot. Yet both knew that, as they were on uncharted waters, they all had to be very careful of how close they came to the black spot.  Yet the only one who seemed to be at ease and he hummed cheerily, was Cerpheres. “Why are you so happy?” “What?  Broken  Strena sat next to Cerpheres as he told the rest of the crew what happened. She looked down. Her eyes were open but were not focused upon anything. She could feel the weight of depression, resting in her chest. She wanted to die but she knew that Kitsuné Ryu would never allow that to happen. No, not when he found all the pain that he was putting her through hilarious. No, he would put her through more just to get more laughter out of her situation. She also knew that she would not be able to handle it but would be forced to endure it.  Devastation They had been on the ocean for three weeks and they had spotted a smaller ship. It had light brown wood and had candlelight flooding the windows. They could hear the laughter coming from the ship. Strena curled up, feeling dread as they came closer and closer and closer. She knew that it was only a matter of time when he would take over. Then all on that small ship would be dead and all she could do was watch and feel the blood, hear the laughter as they all screamed until they died. Then they passed and she dived to the deck. “What was that, Jonny?” “I don’t know. Maybe someone from that other ship landed upon this one by mistake?” “Mummy, we should help them.” That was when a ripple of horror ran throughout her entire body. She felt her eyes look up. To her utter horror, she saw a little girl, no older than she was when her parents were killed!  Dehumanization  When she woke up next she saw Chashathrophogh watching her through the bars of the door. “Don’t do it!” She tried to say but she did not. The words just would not reach her mouth. Which told her one thing; it was already too late. She could do nothing but watch as she slipped out of the bed. “We are going to the marketplace to gather some supplies. Can I trust you to keep him under control?” No! Don’t let me out. It’s not me! It’s not me! “I don’t know.  The Dark Lord Departs It was night and wrote down all her thoughts in her journal. It was the only thing keeping her sane. It was the only way that she could put her thoughts out and get her emotions in line. Yet she could not help but feel lonely in her cell. She felt so alienated from her own body and trapped in it. She looked up at her sleeping uncle. She thought about all of his past actions. She thought about all he had put her through. Then all about what her father put him through. She wondered if this was how he felt. If this was why he did all that he did with her. All that he trained her to do. Yet, she suddenly noticed that the whole ship had become silent. She could not even hear Chashathrophogh’s regular shouting at Cerpheres for annoying him. She also noticed that the atmosphere of the ship had suddenly become strange.  Desperation When Strena woke up the next day she noticed that all her wounds were healed. She felt a cold cuff around her ankle. She looked down with a sting of sorrow in her heart to see the chain and the bed. She saw that all her weapons had been taken off her. She curled up and wept. Why? Why did you do that? Why did you do this to me? What did I ever do to you? “Nothing! I just wanted to get to my dear old rival’s poor, poor host!” Will you go away when he goes away? “No.” Her brain was flooded with laughter. She curled up tighter as she covered her ears, hoping that it would drown out the sound. Yet it did nothing.
