Doormaze Drage The Orange World Part One

 The Orange Lake

Doormaze, Coalmine and Burn woke. The first thing that hit them was the heat. It was like they were in a slow cooking oven. It was barren and almost void of moisture and they were covered in sweat.

“Where are we?”

“I don’t know!”

She looked around to see that there was a burnt orange fog around them.

“Why is it so hot?”

“I don’t know. Maybe it’s a hot place?”

The sisters nodded.

“Now let’s get our bearings.”

So they all walked around and spotted that the ground was hard and dry. Then they looked at each other for a moment before they returned to their exploring. They noticed that they could see no living creature.

“Tell me, do you think that we might just be in a volcano?”

“It would not be surprising. It would explain the heat.”

“And why do you sound so casual about it?”

Coalmine shrugged as they walked on and on and on. They soon noticed that they had not seen anything nor any water! They all started to become thirsty and they took out a drink from their backpacks. Yet as they went on and on and on nothing seemed to change a single big here. Yet despite how long they walked they could see no change!

That was when Doormaze tripped. She hit her head as she looked down to see a furry thing that was completely still. It was grey and its eyes were void of everything and its tongue was out.

She pulled her legs away. She placed her fingers to where it’s heart should be. No pulse.

“Is it dead?”

“Yes.”

“What do you think happened to it?”

She shook her head.

“I don’t know.”

She looked up and spotted more and more of the creatures, all were dead!

“Seriously, what happened here?”

“A radioactive bomb?”

“A what?”

“Maybe.”

“Oh! If that is the case then we’re all in danger!”

“I don’t know. It depends on how long we were asleep, we might already be infected.”

“What! Just what is this bomb that has so much power!”

“Are we going to die?”

“I don’t know. We need to see more about this place before we jump the gun like that!”

“Jump the what?”

“Right.”

“Tell me! I need answers!” Coalmine stormed as they all walked on and on until they finally came to some water! They all soon noticed that the water was orange and they could not see the bottom.

Wanting nothing more than to quench their thirst they went to drink it. All of them secretly hoped that it would taste like orange juice. Only to see a small creature scurry up to the water and drink it. Yet barely a moment went by when it slammed to the ground with a flurry of squeaks it died! 

They all looked at each other and then walked away from the lake.
