The Nine Dragons The Dragon Infirno Final Part
Cold Bath
Loc woke up as she moved with the current. She could feel herself moving rapidly and her flesh was soft and yet she could feel that it was recovering from being boiled. Her mind was numb, yet she could feel that it was stirring. Then it became fully alert when she noticed that she could not breathe!
She tried to push her head out of the water yet that did not work. So she looked up to see that she was under the water! She felt pain force her senses to become fully alert. She pushed her arms up and started swimming up. As she did, she noticed that the water was boiling!
This forced herself to go on and swim upward further and further. Yet she could feel that her sore lungs and throat were crying out for air and the increasing panic did nothing to help. Yet she forced herselton and on and on. Regardless of how much her body begged for it, she did not allow her body to stop. She could feel her head pounding as she swam and swam.
Her mind went over when she escaped Wolf Raven. Even though this river was nowhere near as deep as the ocean, she could not help but feel like she was back there. Doing her best to get to the surface, despite the battle that she was having with her body. She kept swimming on and on just like that time. Her only form of relief was that there were no fish that wanted to devour her.
That was when something soft brushed her cheekbone. She looked to the side to see a fish. It’s body was swollen. Instinctively, she dived away then the back of her head hit something. She looked back to see another swollen fish. Then another and another and another. Then she noticed that none of the fish were moving. In fact, they were all floating to the surface. Then she looked all around her to see more and more fish around her. All had their bodies swollen and their scales flaking like dried skin peeling off.
Realising that she was not in danger of them, she would have let out a laugh if she did not know any better. So she felt less paranoid as she swam to the top and finally broke through the water’s surface. She gasped for air, making her break out into another coughing fit.
Then she looked around to see that she was surrounded by black, grey and white with streaks of amber. Feeling a thick layer of something, she looked down to see that her finders and body were covered in a mixture of ash and water.
Still not out of this.
She had to get over her coughing fit and forced herself on and on. She kept this up until her head collided with the riverbed. She reached up and pulled herself out. Then she rolled onto her back and found herself in another coughing fit. She rolled over on her knuckles and knees. She coughed and coughed. She saw more blood coming out of her mouth. She looked down to see that ash had mixed in with her blood!
Not she understood. She remembered reading something about this in the library back when she was in the rebel’s base. That during eruptions ash would kill those that would inhale it by tearing through the heart, lungs and throat along with everywhere else that it could reach.
So, knowing what she should do, she let her body cough and cough. She spat out more and more bloody ash again and again and again. Soon her body started to feel better but she had to continue. So she continued to do this until she could feel that they were almost clear.
Once she was done, she got up with her head feeling light and she ran on and on and on. She felt her tiredness increase as she ran and ran and ran. She had to push past the tiredness as she ran on and on and on. At this point she wished that there were cars in this world. However, she knew that it would be a long time until she would see one of them here, provided she did not find the shard of the Reality Sphere before then or that she would return to this world if that did happen.
Yet as there was nothing else that she could do, she ran on and on and on. She could feel another coughing fit coming but she forced it down to make sure that she kept running. After all, she did not dare to stop for anything.
Sbe looked up to see dots of light in the far distance. She then started to run in that direction. She knew that she did not want to stay anywhere near here alone. Not if she wanted to recover quickly. So she forced herself to run on and on until her lungs begged for airand another coughing fit. Yet she had to force herself on and resist this. She could feel herself wheezing and her throat became cold with a nauseating feeling rested there. Threatening to make her vomit if she did not stop. However, knowing better than to give into her body, she forced herself on and on. She pushed past all of her body’s plea to stop and rest. She did this and the pleas turned into begging. Then the begging turned into demands. All of which she forced herself to ignore. She pushed herself on and on. Her body became covered in sweat causing her to feel more nauseous. However she continued to force herself on and on and on.
She looked up to see the lights getting bigger and bigger turning from tiny dots to circles. Then her legs started to ache, yet the lights continued to get bigger and bigger. She could feel an ice cold feeling sink into the core of her body making everything worse and worse. She then could see the lights becoming more and more clearer. She soon saw people attached to those lights. She then finally reached them.
“Are you alright?” Asked one with green hair and violet eyes.
Yet before she could open her mouth to speak, her body collapsed from exhaustion to answer her. She caught her and picked her up as Locnshook uncontrollably. She tried to stop herself but she could not. Shd also started coughing and coughing and spat out more blood. She could see her vision blurring as her legs and arms started twitching and shivering uncontrollably. Her tiredness sank in like fangs. Yet she felt her coldness inside her body also sink in and spread like the venom of a snake. She spat out more blood until her need for air stopped this. She then passed out.

When she woke up, she felt rain pouring on her. Her throat and lungs burnt just as much as her arms and legs. She could suspect that they were swollen as they tried to get out the remainder of the ash out of her flesh. She noticed that even though her flesh, her bones and other organs were soothingly cold as ice.
“So you’re awake?”
She nodded, not even daring to speak. She knew that her throat was still recovering from the damage that it was dealt. Even though it was healed from what she had put it through, it still had not recovered from all of it and only rest would provide.
“So, were you able to kill the dragon?” Asked the one that she stayed with.
She nodded.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
She shook her head.
“Do you want to talk?”
She shook her head. She raised her eyebrow to gesture to her that she would once her throat recovered. She nodded.
“You know-”
“You did it? You actually did it?” Shouted the couple that she stayed with.
She rolled her eyes and nodded. They looked at her as if she was insane.
“You know that we only just managed to get us all across the river when it erupted?”
She smiled weakly and nodded. Then she frowned to ask her how much they were able to get out..
“Not all of us left but most of us did.”
She nodded as she let out a sigh. Then she found herself slipping back into sleep again. When she woke up next it was the next day and she was ready to leave. So she slipped out to the group and told them what she had done before they set off.
Then they came to a large clear river. She smiled as they all dived into the ice cold water. She felt relief and awake as the coldness soothed her and she gulped it down as she cleaned herself then they all celebrated for the whole day. Yet she then left the group and looked around for the pool. She soon found it in a large rocky landmass. She also noticed that there were pools filled with hot water. Yet the moment that she spotted o e that was incredibly flat she dived in and went on.
