The Nine Dragons The Dragon Infirno Part Ten

 Eruption 


It was nearly half an hour when Loc woke up looking at amber. The next thing she noticed was that the amber was moving up. Then the smoke and ash entered her mouth, throat and lungs. She coughed and coughed and instantly became alert. She got up and ran as fast as she could away. She felt another cough in her throat. She forced herself to suppress it as she forced herself on and on as she did she could suppress the cough any longer. She soon broke out coughing and coughing. This caused her to stop running for a moment. When she realised that she had stopped, she forced herself on and on as she coughed and coughed. She did all that she could to resist all urges to stop running.

Then she saw her vision blurring as her eyes stung. She started to tear up as her eyes stung worse. She then saw the way that she came and ran down that way. She was coughing all the way. 

She felt the ground shake beneath her. She fell and she tried to get up but the ground shook too aggressively. She was back on the ground. Yet she tried to roll up but that did not work. So she rolled back and pulled her legs in and propelled herself up and landed upon her feet.

She then started coughing again. Then she spat out blood. 

I need to get out of here! Please, let me get out of here!

She forced herself on and on and on. She then finally came to the exit point. She then saw a wall of lava fall over it. She focused her power to the top and cool the lava above the exit point. She then ran on and on and on under it. 

She looked down to see the volcano had erupted. The land was now a sea of rock and lava. She could see the greenery was all eclipsed in fire. She looked up to see that the sky was covered in black smoke where thunder and lightning moved throughout the sky like white and yellow vanes. Black snow and rain fell from those black clouds. Then she could smell it, sulphur and smoke. She could see the lava started cutting through the rock. She looked to the side to see that there was a camp in the very far distance on the horison. 

This gave her a sense of relief as she looked around. She pulled out the map, which she was equally relieved was still intact. She could see that there was a pool was on the other side of the river. So she looked around to find a way to get there. Yet she was surrounded by lava!

She then let out another coughing fit and spat out more bloody spit as she suddenly knew what to do.

She came to the rocky edge, where lava was flowing like a muddy river. She cooled down a part of it until it became rock but the lava covered it before she could stop it. She tried to create another ledge in front of her. Yet it passed by before she could stop it. She felt panic starting to rise. She tried to create another one that was connected to the one that she was on. Yet the lava covered it again.

She cooled the ledge and a bit aged causing a wall to the right. She ran on. She did it again and she ran on. She did it again and again and again and again and ran on. She kept this up until she reached a ledge on the other side. She then looked back to the ledge that she was on, which was now covered in lava. She looked on to find another rock landmass that the could reach. She found that it was very low down the volcano.

She cooled the lava into rock in front of her in a way that the lava behind would go under. Then jumped onto it. She then detached the edge from the ledge and road it to the other ledge and just about managed to jump into it. She looked up to see that the lava had almost eclipsed the entire volcano. She then tour her eyes away from that and looked on for where she should go next.

She could find nothing anywhere near her. All she could see was a lake of fire and lava. She could see the water near her boiling as the lava met the water. She could feel the heat all around her making her eyes worse as they became dry. She could feel her skin also flake up and start to burn. 

She drew her power inwards to cool her body down so that she would not catch fire. She looked around to see that her ledge was starting to move. She could feel it getting hotter and hotter and hotter. She knew that she could not stay on it any longer. She cooled a part of the lava and dived onto the rock before she let herself think. She felt a splash of lava hit her thigh and hands. She let out a short cry of pain which set off another coughing fit. She spat out more blood and looked up. It took all that she had with in her to maintain her balance.

She cooled down another area and dived onto it. She forced herself to stop crying out in pain as the lava splashed her. She waited until she could move onto cooling down another area. Then she dived upon the next one once it was stable.

She could feel the air getting thinner and thinner as she moved on and on. She started to cough again and again as she gasped for air. She spat out more blood. She knew that she had to take a break and gather her breath. Yet the more she gasped for more breath she coughed more and more and spat out more and more blood. She could feel her lungs feeling like a creature had crawled in them and was scratching every inch of her lungs and throat. This caused her throat and lungs to start to itch.

She then spotted that her ledge had started to sink. She looked up and created another rock as fast as she could and jumped upon it. She then spotted that that too started to sink, and even faster than the last. She had to make another and dived upon it. That too sank. Causing her to make another and she had to do it again and again and again and again.

She stared to wheeze. She started to cough again and again and again.

The rock that she was on started to sink as all she could do was cough. Even though she had to make another rock her body would not let her. Then she felt the laca touch her. She cried out in pain. This broke her coughing fit. 

She was able to finally force herself on and made another rock. She eived onto it as the last sank beneath the scarlet waves. She then looked up to see her sight blurring as she saw that she was getting closer and closer to the water. 

This lit a spark in her and she made another rock and dived onto it. She then spotted that it was sinking fast too. She had to quickly create another rock and dived onto it. She noticed that she was feeling a strain start to develop. Yet she could not let it get in her way. So she forced herself on and on. She felt the strain increase more and more. Soon het became blurrier and blurrier. Soon she was seeing double. Yet she forced herself on and on. 

Then before she realised what was going on, she hit the boiling water and all went black. She floated away and her body rose to the top.

The Nine Dragons The Dragon Of The Ground Part Fourteen

 The Rock Dragon  Loc and the other two arrived at where the rock dragon lay. It looked at them with glowing amber eyes and had the shape of a turtle that was large. It had a head the shape of a wolf and had a long tail with four rows of spikes shaping an X at the tip. It had a pair of wings tucked away, yet the body had become too large to fly. It may have been able to fly once upon a time, but not now. After years of being glutinous, it had grown too heavy for it’s body. Upon seeing them it charged at them, making it's body sway from side to side rapidly. They all moved out of the way. They ran to opposite corners.  Sorrowful Rest Loc spent most of her time between sleep and rest in the underground library, as she tried to stop herself from crying. Looking at the whole place, Loc could not help but feel nostalgic for Billy’s Bookshop.  Burnt Pools They walked on and on. They walked to a set of large steps. They had to sit and slide down as they descended lower and lower. As they looked down the tunnel was getting lower and lower. Yet as they went lower and lower the light grew dimmer and dimmer. Soon it was completely dark all around them. Loc had to summon a ball of fire as the men travelled down further and further.  Defending The Town  It was nearly an hour after sunrise when Loc saw the army on the far end of the tunnel. She looked back at Gina. She nodded and gave her a couple of coins with a dragon head on. “There’s a weapon’s shop at the edge.” Loc gave her the basket and ran to it. “Doyouhavammer!” “What?” “Do you have a hammer?” “Yes.” She gave him the coins.   Hunter’s Defence  Scar opened her eyes. She then walked down the stairs. She slowly took out her homework, just to take her mind off the day before she started doing it.  The Fall Of Fire Loc, after a good and long rest, arrived at the chamber where the dragon dwelled. It was made of lava in the shape of a dragon with fire in his eyes. Which reminded her of the eyes of the previous world that she was in. Which seemed like years ago, even though it could not have been more than seven or eight months.  It opened it’s large mouth and threw flames towards her like a wave. She stretched out in front of her. Yet even though she stopped the fire in front of her, it did nothing to stop the fire on the far side of her. She walked on only to be hit by something above.  The next moment she was on the ground, pushing herself up from the rock. She looked up to see a blast of fire coming right at her!
