The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twenty-Four
The Dragon King Lands
They were able to get out of the stone tunnels and found out that it led to the middle of an open field with a layer of runes that were once a castle of old which was on the side of a mountain. Loc would have looked around with a gaping mouth if she knew that this was not the time for sight seeing. So they descended the ancient stone stairs and at the foot of a large and open field.
She looked around for the pools and spotted that they were ahead. She soon set them all alight.
At this she could not help but feel a sense of satisfaction as she knew that, as Paradtopia was dead, Pendragon could no longer make any soldiers and with no more soldiers there would be no more armies. She let herself smile then cleaned herself and her clothes. The rest of the men and eagles did the same.
Once they were all clothed and cleaned she saw a tiny shape in the sky. Yet as she looked at it, she saw that it was getting closer and closer and closer. Soon it blocked out the sun. Yet as it came closer and closer, she saw the two bat-like wings. Next were the four powerful legs. Then she looked down to the tail with an arrow at the end.
Her eyes widened as she raced to the men.
“He’s here!”
“Already?”
“What-”
She pointed to the sky where the shadow was. It was soon the size of a home. Yet he was still flying down and it was painfully clear that it was still miles and miles away!
Some of them stayed where they were and others felt their fear getting the better of them. Yet the shadow became the size of a street. However it was still getting bigger and bigger and bigger and it was still miles and miles away! Soon it was the size of a long street and then a street of large and long mansions! Yet it was still nowhere near close to them.
As it flapped it’s wings, they all noticed that the air around them was undisturbed! Yet some, smarter men, understood what that meant. This caused them to give into the fear and they turned and ran as fast as they could.
That was when she saw a flame come from the shadow. Then it too came closer and closer and closer to them at a phenomenal rate. Yet it still came and the next moment the whole lot that were fleeing were all on fire. The flames towered above their heads as all the landscape was cut off from their sight!
Then they all looked up and horror sank into their bone marrow. Yet they could see that the dragon was still nowhere near them! Then another blast of fire came at them, cutting off their exit points to the left then the one to the right! Yet the blast was able to demolish the ruins of the ancient castle and the mountain that the castle was built into was easily crushed as if it was smashing mash. In fact, the fire took out the entire mountain!
Yet, even though the dragon was closer it still had not yet come anywhere near landing!
Through all of this Loc could think of only one thing as thick and thundery clouds coated the sky, completely cutting off the light of the sun!
I have led all of these men and eagles to their deaths! I have led all these people to their utter deaths again! Worse than that, I gave them hope!
She looked up, feeling ice cold and her fear turned nauseous. Yet she looked back up as it became the size of a block of streets of mansions and became the size of a street of castles! All the men and her became as pale as ghosts.
Not willing to wait the men all mounted the eagles.
“Get to the wings!” They called, not wanting to give into their fear.
They all dived up and shot up as fast and as high as they could. They could see the dark ink green scales with deep crimson webbing in the wings. Yet they still had to get closer and closer and closer to the dragon. One took a glance back to see that there was a thick circle of fire and the men below were like tiny flies. Then they looked on and saw the dragon was now to their point of view was the size of a village now. Yet as they flew on and on and on it became the size of a town, then a city.
Soon they fired at the dragon, thinking that they were close enough to it and all missed and fell before any of them hit. Yet as they flew on and on they did this again and again and again yet all continued to miss and fall before any of them hit.
Elijah frowned.
What’s going on? Why are they all missing? Unless-
That was when they saw a wall of fire, before any of them could do anything, the fire hit and none of them could get out of the way! All of them were soon on fire only for Elijah to see the full size of Pendragon and knew in his heart that all below would be dead in a matter of seconds after he landed before he died. The flames soon ate away his corpse and all their ashes were blown away in the wind before Pendragon burst through the flames.
Loc looked at this with nothing but horror as it came close to the ground. It was the size of an island and his wings too were the size of islands! Loc could tell that even the largest dragons of the planet Drage of her world would be dwarved by this leviathan!
Her mouth became as dry as a desert. Her breath was deep and rapid. She could feel the oppressive atmosphere as it rested upon her chest.
Then it landed upon the flames and let out a deep breath. His rage filled his amber eyes and boiled as he looked directly at her. She could see that they were the size of a mansion…
