Bounty Hunter Bash Labyrinth Lock Part Three
Dead End
They came to a corridor of rosebushes. Bash attached an arrow to her ankle vertically to help mark where they had been. This way, if they came to a dead end, they would be able to retract their steps and go another way. They then came to a crossroads.
“Which way?”
“Well, not on. After all, that would be far too obvious.”
“So that should be where we go.” Strena said, pointing to the right.
“No. I think we should go left.”
“Why?”
Strena looked at Zaryb.
“She favours the left. Even though she is right handed.”
Cerpheres draped his arm around his shoulder.
“And you know that because?”
His face became blue as his cheeks became red. Yet his face looked like he was about to throw up.
“Don’t ask.”
Then Wolfox appeared in his face.
“Well, it turns out Grasharlo has certain..”
His eyes slid to Strena and back to him then he looked back at Chashathrophogh.
“Needs and Zaryb just so happens to be her type and she would never let him refuse her. I just loved hearing him cry every morning!”
“Interesting!”
“So we are going left!” Bash said sternly.
“Yes and get Zaryb out, now!”
Strena looked at them confused as she quietly followed. They then walked on and on and they came to a split. One going left and the other right. They looked to the left to see that there was a dead end so they walked right. They walked on and on. They came to another parting, they looked to the left to see there was another corner. Strena walked down and looked to the left.
“Is it a dead end?”
“Yeah!” She called as she ran back.
So they walked right and spotted an opening to the left. So they walked down and then left again to find that they had arrived at another dead end. Then the rosebush grew behind.
“Ooh!” Sang Cerpheres.
“What?”
Then she heard the cry. A cry that sounded like a cross between a roar of a man and a bull. Then came the tremor under their feet. Then they heard the thumping, like a very loud heartbeat. The ground started shaking like a large heart beneath them rather than ground. The roar came again and again. The shaking became worse and worse. The thumping became louder and louder. Then the ground broke away in front of them.
The shadow shot out from the hole and then the first thing that they saw was the silver hoof. Then the lock of black fur. The next thing they saw was the exposed torso and neck of a large muscular man and the head of the bull with glowing green horns.
Chashathrophogh looked behind and then ahead. Bash did the same and understood. She took out her bow and arrow. She pulled it back and shot at one eye. Then it roared and looked at them. It then charged at them. Zaryb pulled out a tiny dagger and flicked it at the other end. Then Strena ran to the legs and pulled out Orion and Darkector. She flicked out one and cut the side of the leg with Orion and dug Darkector into the top of the ankle.
Then the minotaur fell and the mud beneath was pushed away as he did. Then Chashathrophogh sent a ball of fire at his head. Then the first of the minotaur hit him as the fireball hit. He flew back but a hand shot out and pulled him down. He looked up to see Cerpheres.
“Sheesh! Those horns look quite dangerous. You owe me again.”
“Yeah! Good thinking.”
“Now, get back into the fight!”
“Don’t tell me what to do!” He snapped.
“You’re cute when you’re mad!”
“Stop it!”
“Then get back in the fight!” He sang, licking his lip before returning to the minotaur.
He rolled his eyes as he saw Zaryb throw several tiny daggers at the throat but they were too shallow. That was when Bash shot an arrow at the grip, driving them in further. She then closed her eyes and the arrows set alight. The minotaur let out a roar.
Then Strena dug her blade into the calf and then the thigh. She pulled herself up. It tried to grab her and she kicked his fingertips as she dug them in the calves and stabbed up further. She did this until she reached the chest. Then she stabbed in the chest then cut into the heart.
They both fell and she rolled off. She cleaned her swords before she sheathed them. She then pulled out the daggers.
That was when they heard clapping coming from behind. Chashathrophogh looked annoyed as they looked to see it was Cerpheres. He had a drunk expression on his face.
“That, my dear Strena, is more like it!”
She smiled shyly as the rosebush retracted, but they decided to take a small break.
