Doormaze Drage A World Of Truth Final Part
Lie
Despite having the piece of the Reality Sphere, they stayed there for three whole weeks as they recovered. This gave Doormaze plenty of time to think as she found herself in the castle library, reading book after book. She absorbed all that she could there as she knew that she could not stay anywhere near Coalmine or Burn as she knew that the decision to be made had to be hers and hers alone.
She wondered what to do about Coalmine as she did. At first, she could not think past her rage at what she had done while they were traveling together. But, as she became desensitized to it, she seemed to start to think calmly. It was strange to her the moment that she did have the first clear thought. However, part of her still felt that anger and the calm and anger flickered like the flame of a candle. This happened through the second week.
Then in the third week it was put out and she was able to meditate on the decision completely calm and completely clear. There was no anger in the decision and her thoughts were as sharp as a sword. She had thought about what to say and how best to say it. So, by the end of the week when she would have to address the situation, she knew precisely what to say and what to do.
Yet the deciding moment came from the nightmare that she had the night before they would leave. It was of Coalmine and a beautiful girl her age with white hair and grey eyes. From the moment that she saw her she knew that if those two were to have ever met they would have been great friends. Then she saw what happened next, telling her that they would never meet. She saw Coalmine weeping and the dragons’ threats to her.
When she woke, she wept and wept. It was not until late morning until she stopped and was able to wash her face and eat something. Then by the time it was time to leave there were no traces of her weeping. So she walked out of the castle and walked back to Mayer Millrose’s mansion and met up with Burn and Coalmine who were fully recovered.
“So it’s time to go?” Coalmine asked, trying to hide her dismay.
Doormaze noticed that she had also used the words carefully, making sure that she was hinting that she expected to be left there in that world.
“Yes. But I would like to talk first.”
Her face dropped as she nodded.
“I will not be going, will I?”
“At first I didn’t want to. But yes, you will, which is why I need to talk to you first.”
At this her jaw dropped as she looked at her twin in amazement, yet her eyes narrowed and her mouth closed.
“And why is that?”
“Because I have my friends and family that I don’t want to get eaten either.”
She narrowed her eyes further.
“And?”
“I want you to continue as you are. Keep reporting and I will do the same. For now, we will continue ‘as normal’ but don’t tell them that I know. You will decide on your own path once this dumb quest is done.”
She looked down and nodded.
“What? Are you really gonna let her spy on us?”
She thought about the nightmare she had and nodded.
“Yes. After all, we can’t afford to let them become suspicious or they would eat Kai and Cardmorgue and, I wouldn’t put it past them … Dad too. Even if he is a dragon now too.”
Burn looked at her mortified, yet she looked down and nodded.
“Now it is time to go to the next part of our quest!”
So they placed their hands on her and she slotted the piece in place and went to the next world.
