The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Fourteen

 The Final Unit

They all woke at nine at night. They all had a quick tea before they looked at the fiery horizon. They were all well rested but they all knew that they needed more. Yet after this, they all decided to bury and mourn the dead and have a good sleep. Maybe right into midday.

After all, they all knew that they would have to pack their backs and get a move on to the next place to go to attack the last army before going onto the generals and finally Pendragon. Yet, none of them allowed themselves to think about that. Nor his generals either. The least amount of dread in the room the better.

They did not see the first head until between eleven to twelve. Loc looked up, for a moment, then looked at Elijah. He looked back at her and nodded. She was soon on his back and they all took to the skies. She looked down and could count ten at the front, yet even though she could see three rows, she could only just see two more obscured by the darkness. So she looked on to take a closer look to see if there were more, but she could see none.

So she dropped as the rest of the eagles and men that they could get on their backs and took to the skies. Then they looked down and fired at the eyes of the first five. Yet they could see that most of them had five to ten heads. So they fired at the ones to the left, then on and on and on. Soon they were able to take out the second row’s eyes.

Yet the third row released a blast of fire. Which, Loc stopped and moved to the side. This revealed that there were only fifty hydras.

Good.

Although, the darkness is something that I should be worried about. She thought as she looked on.

They were able to fire at the eyes of the third row. Then they let out more fire. She used the fire to reveal the location of the fourth row’s eyes. This led to them being able to fire at their eyes. That was when the fifth row let out their fire. She parted it then, ahead of her were an army of fire balls. She then split them and they were able to take out the rest of the eyes.

Then she dropped.

“There are fifty. Ten heads on each.” She quickly spoke.

They nodded as they all charged on as silently as they all could. That all trained their eyes on the heads. Yet some of them looked for the stomachs. They all looked at each other and knew what to do. They too knew to be concerned by the darkness.

Then they were under the first row. Then one third of the men turned back as the rest of the two thirds slit the ankles. Then one half of the third looked up at the heads ahead as the rest dived back and slit the stomachs.

Then as they dived on the necks of the hydra travelled down and flicked their heads down to eat them. Yet, even though most dodged there were those that did not. Yet they had to soldier on. When they reached the back of the heels many more were snatched up but most were able to dive back. Then they all split and slit the ankles and then after going for the stomach the heads went for them. The ones that stayed stabbed under the chin and some were able to pull out their men. Then dived on as the stomach was slit.

Quickly the men dived on and the ones that went on ahead slit the ankled and then the stomach. Then as the head dived for them they dived out of the way. Causing some of the heads to bite each other. They let out a roar before they dived back at the attacking heads.

Then the men slit their ankles then their stomachs. Yet when they dived on, this time they waited for the heads to come to them. When they did, they attacked one and dived back to the nearest head. They let out another roar as they fought with each other. Then the men dived on and slit the ankles and then the stomach.

They repeated this action and the heads battled each other. Yet suddenly they stopped. They turned back to the men, almost as if they had figured it out. Then they let out a blast of fire. Loc was just able to stop this as they slit the ankles. Then they were able to slice the stomachs. Soon they were able to repeat this and finished off the last row.

They burned the bodies and mourned for their dead. At no sooner than three o’clock in the morning did they return to their camp where they completely crashed out.
