The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Ten

 The Next Army Strike 

Loc woke up at four in the morning. She then woke everyone else up. Then at quarter past four they ate a quick breakfast. At half past, they all dawned their armour. At quarter to five they were all at the battlefield. Loc and several more let out a deep breath. All of them knew that they were on edge. 

She saw the first hydra. It had three heads and then she saw another two. The one on the right had five and the one on the left had four. She looked on as she saw fifteen more. All had heads going from one head to ten. Yet as eighteen more appeared they all started to feel their hearts in their ears. They wanted to go on but they knew that they had to wait as twenty eight more came, then another fourth nine, then twenty four, then fifteen and ending with the last five.

One hundred and fifty seven! That’s beatable, but barely…

That was when she saw them gallop on and on and on. She too charged on and on. She could see that some surrounding her were afraid and others were determined and the rest had bravery in their eyes. They all drew their swords. 

“Remember, go for the stomachs not the heads!” She called.

“Why?”

“Because in my world-”

That was when they all saw a wall of fire. She raised her hands and stopped a street length of fire. Yet she could not protect the ones that were unfortunately beyond that. Yet she was able to push the wall back.

Then, to her horror, she saw an eagle swoop in with a rider on his back chop a head off! Then they flew on and chopped off more and more! She bit her lip.

Idiot!

“Stop it! Go for the stomach!” She shouted at the top of her lungs.

They all looked at her like she was mad. That was when they looked at the unbleeding stump. They all frowned until two more heads thrust out and the stump split in two! Then the two heads looked at them. At this their eyes widened as they all had dread in their faces. They had to flick in and out of the heads and to the underbelly then all slit the stomachs.

They then sliced one and then went for another stomach and another and another. Then they were snatched in the air. Thirty of them stabbed down and were able to burst out of the lower jaws. Yet only fifty hydras were taken out.

Loc looked up to see why. There were some cuts that were just too shallow. She then blasted herself to the wound and pulled her hammers out and hammered the gut open. She could see more and more men charging on and sliced up the legs. Then dived over to the underbelly and thrust their blades out and sliced the side of the stomach. The next in the line dived on and dug their blades in further and reached the side of the stomach. Then they all dragged dropped and another dived on and were able to slice the stomach open. Then they all fled from under the hydra and moved onto the next one. 

Then they all saw the heads and stabbed the eyes before they moved on to the side of the hydra only to see another head. They stabbed the eyes before charging on and reached the legs. Then they were all able to climb up them and dived to the underbelly and they all did what they could to drive a sword into the scales. Then swung out as far as they could. Then they all raised their legs and pushed the blade on and on. Soon they fell and ran as the guts fell. 

This took out fifty more. They then moved onto the next hydra and repeated the next action. They did this again and again and again. Soon they were all able to take out the rest of them.

“That was easy!”

“There are more of us, and this is the day. So don’t underestimate the next set of them. After all, the real challenge will be tonight.”

“Oh. Right!”

She rolled her eyes as they set up camp and burnt the hydras before taking a quick nap.
