The Nine Dragons The Dragon Of The Ground Final Part
Sorrowful Rest
Loc spent most of her time between sleep and rest in the underground library, as she tried to stop herself from crying. Looking at the whole place, Loc could not help but feel nostalgic for Billy’s Bookshop. She almost could not help but feel the expectation of the faen walking up to her asking her for what book she would like to buy and read this time.
Yet this brought more tears as she had to remind herself that she was not in her world as she picked out the first book. She sat on a stone bench outside and looked at the book and opened it.
In the year of three after the dragon
defeated the royals and has taken all
our first born and killed them. Then
another dragon of great beauty and
majesty carved out pits where she
regurgitated up a strange liquid that
made up a series of pools. Then the
rock dragon did the same and put the
dead firstborn in. Then they all grew
rock over their flesh and came out
alive and as rock. Then, upon the orders
of the dragon, killed their own parents!
“Loc?”
She looked up to see the woman that she had stayed with. Even though it had barely been days it felt like years since she had last seen her.
“Hay.” She said, her voice filled with more sorrow than she wanted to expose.
She could still feel her heart was still aching. Yet she could not quite get as to why.
“So, did you do it?”
She saw a flash of Ryu’s dead body.
“Yeah…”
She could feel the hand of sorrow around her throat.
“Are you alright?”
She hit her lip for a moment.
“No. I’ve been feeling a pain in my heart since Ryu, the one from here, died. Not like the other Ryu that I did not care died.” She admitted as she felt her throat tighten harder.
“Who?”
She told her everything that she had been through since she left.
“Sounds like you were falling in love.”
Her eyes widened”
“I-I was what?” She stuttered with her cheeks becoming scarlet but this did not stop the tears.
She sighed.
“I did once. It was Haru, he was the only one that I thought of as a possible lover. I even started to fall for him but the day that I had finally plucked up the courage to tell him he was killed and taken by the rock men. I was distraught. In fact I cried for over a week.”
“And why are you-”
She felt the tears falling and she just broke down. She dropped the book as her body shook with grief. She wrapped hefarms around her and held her tightly until she had calmed down like a mother.
“Come, Prince Shiro’s coronation is today.”
She looked up and nodded slowly and picked up the book. She put it back into the library. She followed her to the spot and she saw the crown on his head was made of stone with black gemstones in the centre.
“I crown you King Shiro. Long live King Shiro!”
“Long live King Shiro! Long live King Shiro! Long live King Shiro!” The people cried.
They all clapped and clapped. This gave way to partying and he walked down the parting. As he walked down he saw her. He then pulled out a sword and walked right up to her.
“Kneel.” He spoke, his voice gentle but firm.
She nodded and knelt. He placed the blunt side of the blade on one shoulder.
“I knight you Dame Lorra Cerberus of the Sword and Hammer.” He said as he moved the blade to the other shoulder.
“How did you-”
He pointed to the crown.
“The gen knows the true name of all that look at it. That is what the dragon wanted. The reason is unknown to me.”
She nodded.
“Now enjoy. This is the day of celebration.”
She smiled weakly. She followed him to the table where she ate and ate chicken and had a few vegetables. Yet as the day wore on she was able to finally laugh. Then she saw a couple dancing to the music. That was when she felt a tug in her heart. She looked away and once she had finished all her business and read every book in the library, she found the pool that led to the next land and stepped on it
to take down the next dragon and his or her armies.
