Doormaze Drage The Colourless World Arc Part One
Uncle and Coalmine
Doormaze looked around. She could not help but feel small in this big, black, grey and white world. She had started to feel a headache as she looked around. She had to close her eyes to give her mind a break from the lack of colour in this world.
"So, who are you?"
"Cadenmace. I guess I'm your uncle."
Her eyes widened in shock.
"Uncle?"
"Yes." He chuckled bitterly.
"And how are you even here?"
"Cut a long story short, I wanted to help your mother and father find their lost daughter. Got some of the reality sphere, hoping to help. Then I got stuck here."
"And what's stopping you from leaving?"
"The only way to go on to the next world is to take down this world's evil stronghold."
She had to look at herself and her Uncle, just to remind herself what colour actually looked like. She could do nothing but follow the only other thing in this world that was not colourless, the man who claimed to be her uncle.
"So, tell me, what is this world's stronghold?"
"The colourless giants."
She nodded.
Sure if dragons are real so should other creatures that are supposed to be myth. Wonder if I'll bump into a unicorn? You know what, I would like that!
"What that's-"
That was when they heard a knock on their trap door. Doormaze jumped slightly. She looked back to the door and then back to her uncle. She wondered what they should do. Should they answer it or just stay put. Yet the knocking continued as they looked at each other, both of them slightly scared.
Her uncle sighed as he walked over and took out a small handgun. He then walked over to the staircase, gathering for her to stay put. He looked as calmly as he could as he walked closer and closer to it. It unnerved her to see how calm he looked as he slowly ascended up the stairs. Then he slowly opened the door.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Coalmine. Tell me, is there a girl called Doormaze here?" Asked a young voice that was somewhat similar to hers, just with a guarded tone.
"Yes, who are you?"
"That is for me to tell her. Not you."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Come in then."
Soon she was looking at a girl her age. She was dressed in a black leather vest with black leather trousers and a long black trench coat. With black leather boots that came up to her thighs. Her figure was thin but toned and her hardened eyes were maroon and her face looked almost identical to her! Yet the one thing that stuck her the most was the pair of black leather wings upon her back.
"So…you are Doormaze?"
"Yeah, you?" She asked, get eyes turning purple.
"Coalmine. Coal, spelt like a lump on coal, if you are interested." She said, outstretching her hand.
"Doormaze Drage." She said, shaking their hands with a firm grip.
"I must admit that I am shocked."
"At what?"
"How alike we look."
She looked at her face again. She soon saw that they did not look almost identical but completely identical well apart from the hair and eye colour. Yet as her eyes rested upon the girl's ear did she see a single star birthmark, not five which was blue with a black rim, not silver like her.
"Yeah! You're right! Well apart from the-"
Her eyes looked at the wings again.
"Wings?"
"Yeah."
"Well that is due to the fact that I am part dragon. When I was young, my father tried turning me into a full dragon, however as the process is both slow and painful, he was only able to partly turn me into a dragon."
"And why is that?"
She looked away, her eyes tensed.
"I think that, that is for another day." She said, with a guarded tone.
Her eyes were filled with both anger and shame.
She nodded.
"Tell it in your own time." She said, taking her hand.
She smiled out of relief.
"Thank you. Although you can let go of my hand and tell me what is going on?"
"We're hiding from the colorless giants."
"Why?"
"Because the will do anything to kill and rid this land of any colour."
"What is that?" She asked, pointing to the shard of the reality sphere.
"It's a piece of the reality sphere."
"Are you getting serious right now?"
"Yes!"
Coalmine's eyes lit up and she smiled widely.
"Wow! Then why don- do you not leave!" She asked, her eyes twitched when she was about to say don't.
"Well, like I was explaining to the girl here, there are rules. Which is that in order to go into the next world you must take down the evil stronghold of this one."
Hey face dropped.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"How do we do it?"
"I don't know. I tried once but I just can't shake the fear that they have on everyone here."
"Well if that is the case, then we only have to defeat one."
"What! Are you mad girl? Do you know how big they are?"
"Coalmine's right. But out of curiosity how many are there?"
"Thirty one."
"And?"
"There are three of us and only one hundred humans here. Do you really think we have a chance?"
"I do."
"There used to be one thousand."
"I don't get it. What happened to the others?"
"They killed the other nine hundred."
"Oh."
"Did you kill any of them?" Both girls asked together.
"No."
Both girls looked at each other, both were feeling disheartened. Yet Doormaze thought about Kai. If she did not, somehow, pull this off she would not only never see them again, but he would be killed! She did not know how to feel about the boy, just yet, but the last thing that she wanted was to see him dead. She had to do this. She had to find a way.
"And how much did you learn about the colourless giants?"
"Nothing."
"Did you try to learn anything about them?"
"No. I was too busy trying to be the 'chosen one hero'." He admitted.
"Then I think that we could do it."
"No. I can not allow myself to put you girls in danger." He said, shaking his head.
"You do not have to."
"Yeah! After all, we'll be putting ourselves in danger."
"Which means, that Doormaze, I can tell that you need to get trained up."
"But I got into fights all the time!"
Coalmine smirked.
"Well, there is a significant difference between fights between children and one for your life."
Doormaze nodded as she looked down, raiding that she was right.
"Then when do we start?"
"You two are insane!" Moaned Uncle Candenmace, with his arms folded.
