The Nine Dragons Dracula, The Dragon Prince Part Six

 The Journey To The Kingdom 

The first thing that the eagle man did was dive at the strange wyverns. They all pulled out their weapons and stabbed and some stabbed them, others beheaded them and others pecked or thrust their talons at their faces. Soon they all fell like rain, bringing an end to the battle. Then the eagles collected and attended to all the injured before landing in front of Loc.

“Elijah?”

He nodded.

“How have you been?”

“Not bad, thank you, Lady Loc.”

At this she felt her cringing.

“Just Loc, thank you.”

“Right.”

“Hold on, do you know these eagle men?”

“Yes.”

They all looked at her with both curiosity and caution.

“Urm, what are you?”

They all looked back at Elijah and he looked at them, with slight shame in his eyes.

“We were an army made from the pools for the feathered dragon, Ventasmort, however we were able to break her control.”

“Yes. They helped me take her down!”

“We only helped with the armies.” He confessed, putting the tips of his wing behind his head and chuckling bashfully.

“Urm. Does that mean that you’re safe to be around?”

“No. After all, we have heard, I know that you need an army or two to help.”

“Right.”

“So, you’re on our side?”

“Yes, dear child.”

“‘Child’? I’m thirty!” Exclaimed the man.

“Well, I am thrice that age. So to me, you will always be that.”

“Oh.”

That was when King Aki came.

“Was that the end?” Loc asked.

“Yes.” he said as he gave Loc a piece of paper. She looked down and opened it to reveal a map.

“This is the map of Chinohikari. That my ancestral kingdom you need to go to. In order to get to Dracula. Although it will be a hassle to get into the place. However, once you are in, you will need to get to the dungeon. So good luck.”

“Thank you. We will need it.”

“More than you know.” Elijah spoke before they left.

That was when more walked towards them.

“We will be joining you.”

“Any reason?”

“You need all the help that you can get.”

Loc nodded.

“Are you alright in dying?”

“If it leads to the freedom of our children and grandchildren, then yes. We all believe it.”

“Yes. You can, but do not get in the way nor will I be held responsible for your deaths.”

“Never said that you were.”

“Yes. After all, this is the decision that we all have made. Our lives are in our own hands!”

“We just need you to lead us to the place.”

“Right. Time to go.”

So they all walked on and on and on. That was when all the men started singing.

“Up the street and down the lane,

There is the lion’s shed mane,

Don’t cut it up or anything,

Just look at it and then sing!

“Up the lane and down the road,

There is a loud talking old toad,

Saying that you were clearly told,

Fools should not be loud and bold!

Up the road down the life,

The fool died in foolish strife!”

“What’s that all about?”

“A fool that thought it was a good idea to go off fighting a lion for fun.”

At this she went pale.

I hope that I will never be like that.

“Any other songs like that?”

“Yes!”

“Boy walked into a bar,

He sold the best star,

He had a dream bold,

He kept ’til he was old!

“To be able to breathe free,

To open his eyes and see,

A world where dragons die,

In the ground long they lie!”

Loc nodded.

“I have a while to go then?”

“Yes. After all, we all want you to succeed. There are generations that wanted to see this day.”

She smiled as she nodded.

“Even if we are not there to see it…”

She looked to the side.

“But why? Why do all of this?”

“We need our children to be free. We want them to never know feat or to be treated like cattle. After all, you have made us all be able to dream of that day.”

“But what if I fail?”

“What if you don’t?!”

She raised her eyebrow at that as she thought of her rebellion against Wolf Raven.

“So all of us feel that it is our duty to help you until Dracula and Pendragon and their armies are dead.”

She nodded but before she could say anything more they soon arrived at the spot. Ahead of her, she saw flying humanoid creatures all around the castle.

“Do you think that we have a chance against that?”

“Yes.”

So they found an old abandoned stone building.

“Now, the plan is to draw those giants to one place. The eagles will strike from the top and we will strike at the sides.”

“How are we?”

“We all will divide them into eight groups so that they will be easier to take down.”

“But how will we?”

“We all need to clear the army and generals to make a way to Dracula.”

“Right.”

“Also, we will need a group that will be at the entrance side to be taken care of before the trap is set.”

“Right.”

“Now, expect some of you to die, expect things to go wrong but your lives are in your hands and yours alone.”

“Yeah!”
