Scar A Lonely Escort Part Four

 The Cave

The following day Scar felt like her stomach had been turned to stone as it growled loudly. She felt completely weak and tired. Her heart felt like it had a knife in it. Sbe saw Morana by the fire but her mind could only think of one thing. Food. Her arms and legs were sore and achy. Her eyes were swollen and puffy.

She knew that she could do nothing but endure the pain. Speaking up would do nothing but earn her even more pain. Yet despite all of this she could only focus upon her painful hunger. She knew that she needed to get some food. She looked down at the grass as drule started to stream down the corner of her mouth.

She pushed herself down to the blades and, just as her teeth were about to get close her chains dug into her wrists. She tried to push on but her arms just were not long enough of her to reach the grass. She clenched her teeth as all she could do was cry.

“Oh! Are you trying to escape?”

She glanced up too hungry to think of how she looked. She just could not think of anything else. She saw her pull her bag out from under her. Scar looked at it for a moment before pushing forward and yanked at the cuffs just to get to the grass. Yet the moment that Morana saw this she smiled.

“Look at you! You’re an animal!”

“Like to see how you hold up after a day without food!”

She laughed as she kicked the stone away and pulled out the nail. Meanwhile she dived to the grass and bit into as many blades as she could before she was pulled away. She swallowed as fast as she could before she was pulled away.

Yet she saw ahead of them was a storm coming. So she saw a cave and dragged her in. She flung her into the wall and lit another fire as the storm came.

She looked away as she could hear the growls of her stomach echoing throughout the cave. She spat some of her saliva before biting her lip to stop her from crying again. Yet despite this, she could not stop the growling of her stomach from exposing her. She closed her eyes to stop them, at least, from exposing her.

No. That grass wasn’t enough.

Then she felt the fire. She opened them and looked at it. Then she looked at Morana. She then looked down. She tried to keep her mouth shut as all she could do was stare into the fire as she remembered how Morana looked at Beatrice and Britannia. She remembered just how loving she was to them. She then looked at her, knowing that she would never have that. She would always have the monster. The one that had tried to kill her over twice, who will never stop trying to kill her. She then thought about how they would talk to her about their mother and knowing that it was none other than Morana.

“Honestly, are you even the same person?” She asked before she realized she said it out loud.

“What do you mean?”

It was in that moment that she realized that she had said it out loud.

“Never mind.” She muttered as she closed her eyes, hoping that sleep would give her some break from this pain. It did not, especially when she smelt the food. Her eyes opened as all she could do was stare at the food. She was about to try to ask for some when she realized that would not be such a good idea. Then she felt the pain in her stomach and the loud noise throughout the cave. She could not even stop the whimper from escaping. When she realized what she had just done her eyes widened.

“Will you be quiet!”

“Why?”

“I will beat you.”

“Well at least-”

Then she felt the agony in her stomach. She looked to the side.

“‘At least’ what?”

“Step up from trying to kill me!” She moaned as she tried to hide the pain. “But then again you are starving me soo… what do I call you? Morana, Mrs Smith, mother or monster?”

Then she felt a slap. She could see the food again. She closed her eyes.

“How dare you call me that?”

“What? Morana, Mrs Smith, mother or monster?”

She felt another slap.

“Call me a monster again and I will slap you again.”

“Why? That’s all you’ve been to me ever since you entered my life. You know, I wanted to be normal. Then what happened? I went into-”

She felt the pain causing her eyes to water. She could feel herself losing the battle against her tears.

“Just-”

Then she passed out. She saw the hand of the witches and Morana coming at her with a knife. Her eyes flicked open as she pulled Alex’s off her head and pressed it into her agonizing stomach. She hugged it as she fell asleep only to wake from another nightmare.

“Mum! Mum! Mum!” She shouted as she felt arms around her. She, for a moment, thought that everything was nothing but a nightmare and it would be the first day of school. Only for her to look up.

“You’re not my mum!”

“You’re not my Beatrice!”

She pulled back. She clutched her hat like a teddy bear.

“Is that Alex’s? I thought he lost that years ago! Where did you get it?”

“Gave it to me when he gave me my name.”

“Oh! And why is that?”

She clutched the hat tighter.

“Not telling me? Alright then.”

She pulled it out of her arms and threw it into the fire. Scar dived at it.

“No!” She shrieked as she reached into the fire and burned herself to retrieve it. Only for it to be too late. At this she broke down weeping.

“That was the first thing he ever gave me!” She shouted. “How dare you! How dare you!”

She dived at her only to be hit back down to the ground.

“Too bad!”

She looked up at her with rage.

“The only one of you that actually named me and the only one to ever treat me like a daughter and you-you do that! You-”

She slapped her.

“Why can’t you leave me alone? I did as you told me and stayed away from them but then they came and I told them to go home!”

At this she punched her. She dodged yet she looked directly at her in the eyes.

“You did what? So that’s why they came home crying that day! You! You’re the reason-”

She hit her with her forehead.

“It’s not my fault! They were the ones that knocked! And I didn’t even open the door!”

She was about to throw another punch.

“And why are you at the beach?”

“I just wanted to…I just wanted to…”

“You just wanted to do what?”

“Have something to take my mind off things! I just wanted to have something normal to do rather than have to think about witches, some dumb Mythos Puros, whatever that is, even you mother. Or should I call you that? After all, you may have given birth to me but you have been nothing but a monster! And what about Alex? Should I call him father? After all, he can’t be a father to me as he is too busy dealing with you!”

And what about my Beatrice and Britannia? Don’t you care about them? Do you still want to be their friends?”

She closed her mouth and eyes to stop herself from exposing her emotions. Yet she knew that deep down she could tell. So she finally nodded.

“Tell me.”

“Yes!”

She dropped her.

“Do you want a normal life?”

“Yes!”

“Did you know that I tried to abort you?”

“What?”

“But all the equipment ended up bursting into flames!”

“What!”

“Do you know what that means?”

“No.” She lied.

“It was that you are not normal and you never will be normal.”

At this she shut down and Morana dropped her. Then she placed her hand on her head before the storm ended and they left the cave.
