Strena The Voyage Final Part
The Desert Planes
Strena, Bash, Zaryb, Chashathrophogh and Cerpheres handed in Captain Treeleaves. Then collected and shared the bounty equally. Then they approached one of the men that attacked Strena.
“Tell me, why did you try to kill me?” She demanded.
“We were ordered to.”
“By who?”
“The servant of the gods.”
“What servant?”
“The Marked Dragon Fox of the East.”
“Does the mark look Animéganesse?”
“Yes.”
Strena saw Zaryb’s cruel face return, no this was the face of Wolfox. He looked at the man with a snarl. She heard him growl like a wolf. She looked at him alarmed. His face seemed more feral and animalistic too.
“Urm…”
“He can’t have the girl. She is mine! She is MINE! SHE IS MINE! ONCE THIS BODY IS DESTROYED, HER’S WILL BE MINE AND I WILL NOT SHARE HER WITH ANYONE!”
Strena was struck with anger.
“I will not!”
He turned to her and grabbed her by the clothing in the chest and pulled her up. She had to grab his wrists.
“Oh yes you will. That sword proves this as your destiny!”
“NO I WILL NOT! You will not do to me, what you have done to my uncle! Have you got that, your Majesty?”
“Then restore to me my true body.”
“Alright, but under the condition that you have me and my Uncle Zaryb alone!”
He grabbed her hand and shook it.
“Deal, Arielsa Zuvé.”
“Fine!”
“I’ll hold you to that!”
Then Wolfox looked at the man.
“Tell me did my old friend send out more to kill her?”
“Yes.”
“All I needed to know!” He said as he bit into his throat and gulped down the chunk. He wiped the blood away.
Then Zaryb returned. He closed his eyes as he dropped to his knees. He rested a hand on Strena.
“Why did you do that?” He asked with a broken voice.
Strena raised her eyebrow.
“Why? ‘Cause I’m sick and tired of that thing! I’m sick and tired of what it has done to both you and me. That’s why!”
He looked down as he started crying.
“You would, wouldn’t you?”
“Let’s go. We need to, one get out of here. Two, get to the nearest town. There we can dye our hair and find a way to cover this up. Three, think of a new name on the way there. After all, if this Marked Dragon Fox of the East wants me gone, chances are both my names will be a liability.”
“Alright.”
He nodded.
“Also, could you get Wolfox to tell us more about him on our way?”
Soon Wolfox appeared again.
“The Marked Dragon Fox of the East is the Yokai King. Once he got too close to my territory so we had to fight in order to put him in his place. After all, I had no intention to share my territory with anyone. So when we fought, we were both clever and violent. In fact over a hundred on lookers were killed in that fight, but he was clever And had a witch with him and they were able to take me out of my body and seal me away. Until Nazor put me in his little brother’s body. So you know the rest which means that I have no reason to speak of it any further.”
Then Zaryb returned. Strena walked up to him and took his hand and hugged him.
“Are you alright Uncle?”
He looked at her and shook his head.
“I wanna beer.” He moaned.
“We can’t afford that.”
“Weeeell! One can’t hurt!” Purred Cerpheres.
“You have no idea.”
They soon came to an inn after a whole day’s journey. It looked like it was made of sand with a lilac door and open windows.
Before they entered Cerpheres placed a hand on their heads. Then, to Strena’s shock, she saw crimson come down his hair and eclipse the white. He spun them around to look at his work and cupped their cheeks.
“What are you doing?”
“Hmm, little old me? Why! Why don’t you look in the window?”
They did to see that both their hair was crimson and the assassin’s mark was gone!
“How?”
“It’s only a temporary illusion. It’ll wear off in three or four days.”
So they walked in and paid for their rooms and signed in.
Borevers Scar
Cari Scar
“Are you sure about that?”
“Yeah, everyone who knew is dead and you killed the last one.”
“Oh yeah! I guess I did!” He laughed.
Then Strena wrote down her alias.
Relcin Roch
“Why that one?”
“They are the first names of my favorite characters from my favorite story father and mother used to tell me as a child.”
Zaryb smiled as he wrote down his.
Coh Roch
“You loved the same story?”
“Yes.”
