Bounty Hunter Bash The Desert Bounty Lock Part Five

 The Blood Priest

Of The Desert

Bash, after three and a half days traveling and becoming low on the sun protection potion, came to another bounty hunter’s tavern. Bash and Zaryb looked at the board as Cerpheres gave Strena another violin lesson. She looked to Zaryb by her side and noticed that he was quite handsome, however she immediately returned to the board knowing that she did not have the time for romance nor did she want to think anymore of it. The first thing she noticed that most of them were far too easy.

Then she found one that caught her eye

Before she could think or stop herself, her hand whipped out and pulled it off the board! She looked at Zaryb and, again her eyes traced the jawline, but she pushed past it. She showed it to him. He looked at it and his mouth curled upwards.

“Good choice!”

She smiled. He suddenly came close to her as their eyes met. Suddenly she knew by the cruelty of them that she was not talking to Zaryb.

“Maybe I should have you baby sit the girl? She could learn a thing or two from you!” He snarled as his eyes dropped. “Then again, I think that I too could teach you a thing or two too.”

He came closer to her.

“I can see that you like what you see! Don’t you?”

Her hand moved before she could think and hit his cheek. There was a look of such rage in them that she had never experienced before as her cheeks became hot.

“You know, Cerpheres’s right. You do look so adorable when you’re angry!” He said, leaving and touching his cheek.

She followed in a huff. She took a glance at Chashathrophogh then at Zaryb.

“What is it dear niece?”

“Nothing much. Just tell me, how do you get Wolfox out of him?”

“If I knew, then he would be already out of him. Now, did you find one?”

She handed it to him and looked at her.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

So they took their potion and walked on.

“So where do you think he is?” Strena asked.

She looked at the back.

Last Seen In

Caiphrogh

“Caiphrogh.”

“That’s to the west of here. Yes! I remember! It is in the east of the river Nialioh!”

She raised her eyebrow.

“You are familiar to this place!”

“Yes it’s where-”

Her face dropped as she looked down.

“Mum and dad used to take me…”

She nodded and placed a hand on her head.

“It’s okay.”

“No it’s not! They were evil. Dad was evil!”

She flicked her in the forehead.

“You don’t need to focus upon that.”

“But what if I become evil too?”

“You can, if you choose to be.”

Soon they arrived in the town. She saw that it was completely empty. She went from house to house, looking for someone but none answered. Soon they looked inside one, just to see if there was anyone in there. However there was not. In fact, they seemed to have never been touched. Not at all. So Bash looked at the tables, chairs and the doorknobs. She went to the kitchen and looked at the clean kettle, cups, plates, bowls and utensils and not one of them had a single finger print and the kettle was not blackened at all either.

How strange.

She walked out and went from house to house and still there was not a fingerprint to be seen!

“You found something, dear niece?”

“No. It’s not about what I had found more like what I haven’t.”

“And what do is it?”

“There are no fingerprints anywhere!”

His eyes widened as they looked around and still found nothing!

Then they came to an all too familiar temple, which seemed rather alien in this land.

“What?”

“What on Merth is that doing here?”

“What is it?” Strena asked.

“A temple to the dark goddess Clohida!”

“Hold on!”

She looked at the temple as it’s doors opened.

“It’s a trap, isn’t it?”

“Yes. Yes it is!”

“Do we go in?”

“Cerpheres!” Chashathrophogh snapped as he walked to the doors.

“What? He invited us in! The least we should do is have the curtsy of coming in!”

“I hope that he does in there!”

“Don’t give into wishful thinking like that!”

“Fine!”

They all entered and the doors closed behind them. Inside the exterior was identical to the one who Chashathrophogh and Bash had taken down the last time.

“Well, well, well, looks like you already know what is about to happen!” Spoke a booming voice.

Soon they were looking at him, he was a man of the Desert Planes with a darker skin tone of the Sand Planes with arrogant arched eyebrows.

“You must be Jaha then?”

“Yes.”

“Good.

Suddenly she charged at him loading her bow and shot arrow after arrow. He used his magic to create whips of blood and swiped each and every one of them out of the way. She went to punch him but he raised his hand and blood whipped her back. The next moment her back slammed against the wall, driving pain all over her body. She let out a grunt as she fell. She saw a stake of blood almost away from her. She would have been taken out right there and then but her battles had made her tougher than that. She jumped up and onto her feet, causing the blood to splat all over the wall behind as she landed. Then she looked up at him.

He looked at her and smiled.

“I thought so!” He sang as the blood pool behind him, like a tsunami. “Time to see if the gods are right!”

Then the wave of blood shot at her in the shapes of stakes. She raised her hand and the blood stakes parted and crashed into the wall. She pinched her bow from the ground and took out her arrow. She looked up to see that the stairs were broken and covered in blood. She looked up to see what happened.

She summoned a ball of fire and threw it back at him. He propelled it back. She was about to stop it then she felt a stabbing pain in her back. She looked back to see the blood stake. She ducked as another shot at her. It then hit the fire above her. She went to sprint on until her arm was hit. She saw a blood stake in there, just thinner and smaller. She looked down to see more coming at her. She raced on and on and on as more and more shot at her. She could feel her thighs and calves being hit. Then one hit her back and she fell in the blood.

Hold on, shouldn’t the rest be helping me? She thought as she got up and looked around to see that there were none there! Where are they?

“They are locked away. That way we will not be interrupted.”

“Why?”

“Do you know why I was able to kill so many?”

“No, but you are going to tell me anyway!”

“True, it’s because I make sure to get them isolated and get them one by one, making sure to enjoy every scream of terror. Do you want to know why?”

He paused but she remained silent.

“It’s because this way the killing becomes more intimate and personal.”

She nodded as her eyes looked at the blood behind him. Then she willed it to go to him and boiled it. Then it hit. He looked at it and her with wicked fascination.

“That was rude.”

She rolled her eyes.

“Never said I was polite!” She remarked as she did it again and again and again until he pushed the balls of boiling blood. That was when she focused upon the iron in the blood and pushed it towards him. But he saw it coming and ducked.

Then he cut his fingers then the blood that was flowing from her wounds started to rise up and shot at the spot tearing her flesh apart. Her eyes dropped as she fell. She looked at the blood around his feet. Then he clicked his fingers and the blood around her started to boil. She pushed past the pain to draw all the iron to his legs and wrap around his ankles. Then drove more to make a cuff and cuffed him to the ground. Then used more iron to make spikes and drove them into his feet then he fell into the blood.

She pressed the blood into his ears. Then up his nose. She kept this up as he struggled until he dropped. Soon the rest appeared. Soon Cerpheres healed her and they soon collected the bounty. She spoke no more but suspected that there was magic involved in his bounty poster….

“Hey, can I go back? I want to paint you and that temple!”

“Fine!”
