Bounty Hunter Bash The Desert Bounty Lock Part Six

 The Final Job

“So are you going to stay here for a while?” Bash and Chashathrophogh called to Leonardo as he painted the temple and them.

“No. I am known to be the fastest painter where I came from. Although that girl, Strena had potential to paint and work faster than me!”

“Well, what do you expect! She has been trained by me!”

“Finished!” He sang after half an hour and walked to the next town to the local bounty hunter’s tavern.

“I’m going to see if there is a bounty hunter’s board here.” Bash said as she could feel the sun getting to her. She could also see that it was getting to Chashathrophogh too, regardless of how well he was able to mask it. So she soon found one and saw the poster on the board.

“Found a good one?”

She let out a cross between a scream and squeak as she accidentally punched Cerpheres. He smiled drunkly as his cheeks became coral. Yet he relaxed his face.

“Tell me, when you left the bounty hunter’s tavern the other day, you looked very… flustered.”

She rolled her eyes as she returned to the board. She felt his arms around her as he leaned in closer to her ear.

“Did Wolfox give you a hard time?”

She whipped around and punched him away. Then looked back.

Corah Chorak

A devout follower of all the gods and goddesses of Merth,

Including the discontinued gods and goddesses of yore, all

apart from the one known as the Great Being, which

claims to be the one true God.

In this worship he has murdered the royal families of;

Alkhaha, Chocohos, Stroyah, Jora, Sparra, Olyma Eastagonist, Storage, Yamikagé and Jurogumo.

Wow, this guy’s been getting around! I think it’s about time someone takes him down.

So she took it and looked on the back.

Last seen in Naialciaptian

Good. Not far from here.

“So are you going to talk about it?”

She looked up.

“About what?”

“What happened!” He sang moaned.

“No. I have a job to do.”

He looked down and took it. He looked at it and raised it to the sun.

“You know, I never saw that one!” He purred as he passed the poster back to her.

She looked at his face to see his all too happy face. Suddenly she felt naked in front of him as he smiled his lazy smile. She looked away as he licked his lips. To ignore this, she walked on. Suddenly she felt all her hairs stand on end and she felt suddenly irritated. Sje looked back at him as his smile widened.

“Cerpheres! Stop looking at me like that!”

“Oh? And how do you want me to look at you?”

“Not like that!” She snapped rattly.

“Ahha! You’re just like your dear uncle.”

He chuckled as she stormed to the group.

“Have you-”

“Finished!” Leonardo sang as Strena finished her painting with Leonardo, revealing a beautiful painting of the pyramids in the far distance. She used her magic to dry it.

“Good. Now let’s go!”

They soon were on the road.

“Bash?”

“No. I’m not talking to you!”

She soon walked on faster only for Cerpheres to follow suit.

“Could I teach you something?”

“Is it appropriate?”

“Maybe!”

“Alright.”

“Give me that poster.”

She gave it to him. He raised it up to the sun again. She looked up to see a purple tint to the papyrus! She narrowed her eyes.

Do they all have that? She thought as she took out Jaha Bazel’s poster and saw it too

“Tell me, what do you see?”

“A purple tint.”

He smiled.

“Do you have the rest too?”

She pulled them out.

“Show it to the sun.”

She did and spotted that the rest did not have that tint.

“I don’t see it!”

“Papyrus that have been enchanted have a purple tint.”

“Oh.”

So it could be a trap. She thought.

They arrived at the place the next day. It was, what looked to be, a small shack. She walked up to it and opened the door. Ahead of her was a set of stairs leading down. She was about to walk down but Cerpheres walked on ahead.

“What-”

“Please, I’ll go first.” He purred. “I’ll look out for traps.”

He walked on. Chashathrophogh raised his eyebrow as he followed her. Strena was about to go next until Zaryb walked in front of her.then she walked down and was followed by Leonardo.

When they reached the bottom, they saw a large chamber that was in the shape of a cube with a square pool going around the centre with glowing green water. Over it were arched wooden bridges leading to the square land in the centre.

Cerpheres walked on as Strena and Leonardo gawped at the marvelous beauty. He looked around and as he looked down in the pool and saw a small tunnel the size of a cat going to the next chamber, which the bridge ahead led to. He looked around them as the rest followed him.

Then the ground rose up and took shape. It looked at her and smiled as he raised his eyebrow.

That was when Leonardo raced ahead. He pulled out two flints and as he reached him, he ducked and reached out his hands. Then he struck the flints together and something lit up and the stones fell.

“What did you do?”

“It’s a creature of Terradén. All artists know about her. ‘From the Merth we get out tools. For without Merth, we are nothing. So thank Terradén for all your tools.’”

“So, you’re not useless then?”

“No, Chash’, was it?”

“Chashathrophogh!”

“Well, Chashathrophogh, it seems to me, that if I am going to stay on this team-”

“Not a team!”

“We just so happen to share the same goals.”

“Urm,speaking of goals, ours is here!” Cerpheres purred, pointing to the man in the middle of the room.

It was him, Corah Chorak. He had silver hair that shone like a mirror. His eyes were as white as snow and the only thing that displayed his Desert Planes heritage was the skin tone around his eyes.

“Ahhh! The God Slayer and the Guide of The God Slayer. I see you took your sweet time. I was getting ratty!”

“What?” Both girls asked.

“Yes. I was the one that put that poster up. So that only either of you would see it and only you two. That is, until you picked it.”

Bash raised her eyebrow at him.

“Didn’t ask.”

She charged on ahead firing shot after shot at him. He used his magic to deflect each and every one of them. Then she reached him. The next moment she was looking at his palm. Then with a painful flash, she flew back and hit the ground. Strena pulled out her swords and dived at him. He did the same to her.

Bash pulled out her bow and arrows and fired at him. She used her magic to will it close to him. He used his magic to stop it. This caused her to increase her willpower to push it on. He put more of his willpower into his push. She pushed on more. They both did this until Bash could feel the strain. Then she loaded her bow and fired again. He stopped it. She fired another and another in the shape of a ring of arrows.

Then she set it ablaze and willed it to spin around and around and around until it became a fire-nado. She kept it up until he lifted and dispersed the fire-nado. Quickly she fired an arrow at him and it flew past. Suddenly it curved and it hit the back of the neck.

He dropped and Cerpheres walked up to him and he looked drunk as he placed his fingers to his head with closed eyes.

“You didn’t kill him, did you?”

He let out a chuckle.

“No. I just made sure that he could no longer use his magic. That’s all!” He sang in his emerald hair voice. “It’s just, after all of this, I just could not restrain myself and I needed to get that tension out of my system.”

“What tension?”

“Nevermind Strena!” Bash said quickly as he picked him up and ran to the nearest bounty station and they soon had more than all the coins that they needed. Yet five days later in jail he succumbed to his injuries. By that point they were far from that location.
