Bounty Hunter Bash The Desert Bounty Lock Part Two
The Assassin And The Thief
They walked on, Bash looked at Leonardo. She could feel that there were things that he was not telling them. Something that was still bugging her. Almost that there was a beehive in the room that was buzzing far too loud. She wanted to ask him a question, but her gut told her that now was not the time to ask them. Yet she knew that he would have to ask him something that would satisfy her curiosity and to make that buzzing less louder.
“Tell me, why did you come here?”
“A woman approached me a couple of months ago when I was hiding in Accia. She told me to get to the Desert Planes.”
“Hold on, weren’t we in Accia at one point?”
Zaryb narrowed his eyes as he became pale.
“Yes.”
“Who was that woman?”
“I don’t know. All she told me is to get help from the one with the Bastard Killer.”
Chashathrophogh nodded as he looked at Bash.
“And did she look blind Cerpheres, just with crimson eyes and jet black hair?”
“Yes, she did!” He said, his eyes lighting up. “In fact she was rather beautiful!”
“Did she look like this?” Strena asked, showing him a poster of Grasharlo.
“Yes! Yes she did!” He said looking at the picture.
His eyes widened in horror.
“Hold on. She’s Dark Lady Grasharlo?”
“Yes.”
“But I thought that she is an old hag!”
“Why would you think that?”
“It’s because aging spells are both easy and common. In fact, most witches and sorcerers use it frequently. So much so that it is commonplace to assume that it is usual to suspect an innocent old woman could be behind some witchcraft.” Chashathrophogh explained.
He nodded.
They soon came to the next town.
“My dear niece, take the arrest to get some supplies. I will be getting some weapons. You should know where it is.”
Chashathrophogh gave her some money, with a warning look in his eyes.
“Come on.” She said, taking him by his hand and walked away from the group.
They both walked down a street. Bash could not help but feel like that were being watched. Yet she knew better than to show it. In fact, during the year when she got her name, she had become accustomed to this feeling. She had it when she took the authoritarian Jocoro Jiriavitch down, which was her first job and collected her first bounty.
She could feel it in her gut that this was her bounty. So she walked around and found the place. She walked to the shopkeeper.
“Hey, tell me, what’s the best canvas you’ve got?”
“We only sell papyrus.”
She nodded as she looked down as she was wearing an eye with a cross-like shape behind it.
“Is that the eye of Anubis?”
“No.” She said, looking down.
“Tell me, is there a man here that looks like this?”
She looked down and then up.
“No.”
She did not need to look back. She took her arrow and drew her bow. Yet her eyes looked at the glass and she saw him getting closer and closer to Leonardo. She could see that he had not noticed the assassin. Yet this was good. She then looked at the assassin’s eyes and noticed that he had not seen her either. Another good thing. So she drew her bow and before he spotted, fired at the back of his neck. Dislodging the bones and slicing through the muscles. He fell like he was drunk and she heard a woman cup her cheeks and scream.
Who needs magic when you’ve got skill? She thought as she heard the annoying scream again.
“My purse!” The woman screamed.
Bash looked at her to see that it was swinging. She was about to roll her eyes until she saw the flat pocket of Leonardo.
“Leonardo! Check your pockets!” She snapped.
He did. His eyes widened as he started to sweat.
“My money’s gone!” He exclaimed.
My payment’s gone too! Ahh! Can’t believe it! How are we going to get that now?
She ran out as fast as she could but she could not see anything out of the ordinary. She scanned and scanned but still she found nothing!
How will I locate him now?
Magic?
What! Locate him or her with magic? I’ve never read or heard about someone doing something like that before! So can it really be done?
Well no time like the present!
She closed her eyes and gathered all her will and used it to focus her power. Then she used her thoughts on all that had been stolen. It was as if she could actually see them in her mind’s eye. Then she saw a hand. She directed her mind’s eye to the arm which the hand belonged to. Suddenly, her vision rose out of the pocket and up the arm to see the man’s face. He had chalk blue hair and eyed the colour of mold. He had a youthful look with a slim plain body and a blue shirt and baggy trousers.
Her eyes opened. She scanned the population again. Yet she still saw nothing. So she jumped and climbed up the shop to get a better look of the crowds. She soon saw him. She drew her bow and arrow, but before she could do anything, he dropped.
Then she heard a clap behind her. She suddenly felt creeped out and cringed, as she already knew who it was. She spun around and flicked out a punch to him. He chuckled with a drunken look on his face.
“You were able to teach yourself how to use a location vision spell, and all on your own! That was nice! Very nice!” He purred as he grabbed her shoulders.
“Oh, you are so, so great! I definitely made the right choice following you!” He moaned.
She slapped him.
“Cerpheres, leg go of me now!”
He looked at her and his face relaxed as he kissed her forehead before letting go. This earned him a kick in between the legs.
