The Nine Dragons The Life Dragon Part Sixteen
Waking The People
It was at dawn when she and her men re-entered Dragon City. They knew that they had a great task ahead of them. She remembered just how things were when the librarian came up to them with a man next to him.
“I’m Gin Hikari, an archeologist. And I can tell you that the recording in this book is truly a load of baloney. After all, looking at those stairs, I can tell that she could have been here for one thousand years at most.”
Loc nodded.
“And, by looking for the evidence, it just does not line up but that was how I was able to track down this book. Over one thousand years old but very well persevered.” He explained as he showed her an old dusty book with faded brown leather. She opened it and looked down.
‘Tis the first day of fighting the dragons
and not one thing works I hath lost
many yet ‘tis in vain. The only hope is
Philostiria’s famed champion, Fate’s
Champion, to show up, and soon.
She looked at him, waiting for what he was going to say next.
“Philostiria came here one thousand and five hundred years ago so-”
“How can this book depict the first day of fighting against her when she is supposed to be older?”
“Exactly!”
That was when she looked to the side.
Now comes the hard part; making the people here believe it. She thought as she reached the first door.
Someone answered and they presented their case.
“Lies! Utter lies!” She spat.
“But-”
The door slammed in their face. She, knowing that nothing can be done, moved onto the next door and made her case. The woman looked at the book. Yet her eyes lit up as she looked at it, furiously. She then looked at her as she returned the book. There was absolute rage in her eyes.
“You know, this makes more sense than anything that my mother had told me.”
“Really? How come?” The man asked.
“Look around you, nothing in this city seems to be built for the dragons. Even the palace over there seems to be made for humans. You can tell by the doors and corridors!”
The woman looked at it with a deep frown.
“Also the only thing that we were made to build were all those pools one thousand years ago.”
“And those pools throughout the planet that Paradtopia vomited into.”
“What?”
“Paradtopia told us to build many things. Those pools were one of them. Once the pools were all done, she vomited into them along with the rest of them. Once she was done she vomited into them along with the rest of them. Shortly after that the dragon armies appeared. Remember the old books?”
“Oh yeah!”
“Then we need to get this out!”
They soon gathered the evidence and spread this too. Yet all of them had to split and made their case throughout the Dragon City banging on door to door.
Yet Loc could not help but think about what the woman said about the pools and the seeds of ambition were sown. After all, if she was able to take this one dragon down it would be the single most important move to play before she faced that last two. After all, once she had taken care of her there would be no more pools that could be created.
Yet she looked up and noticed that she had to not focus upon that. Not when she had to focus upon waking this whole city up and make the people know that Paradtopia and the rest of the dragon were not gods or goddesses. She moved on and on door after door making her case again and again and again. She had barely time to take a lunch break when she moved on and on and on. As she did, she noticed that asking questions and getting people to reach the truth themselves was far more effective than just telling them.
Yet soon the mid afternoon came and some of the City’s folk joined them.
“Look, we have until nightfall to get the word out. We will have to take a nap too. After all, we will be fighting all night.”
She nodded and all of them got a move on and soon in the late afternoon they took a quick nap before night fell.
