The Nine Dragons The Life Dragon Part Twenty

 Destruction Of The Pools

It was early the next day when they were able to set off.

“Tell me, why did you not fight in that last battle?” Asked one.

“I told her not to.”

“Why?”

“Because you needed to know that you could do it on your own. After all, I may not always be here to sort out all your problems, you have to learn that on your own. I am not going to be another Paradtopia. I’m here to help set you free from Paradtopia.”

The man nodded.

“Then after all of this is done, do you expect us to do all the work to heal our land?”

“I will help you as much as I can, but I will be leaving as soon as I can. I do need to take down the final two dragons.”

He nodded.

“Then we will help.”

She looked at them in horror.

No. Not again!

“And don’t think that this is on you. I heard about the last two and their size and the size of their armies. And, if they are to be believed, even with a grain of salt, you need all the help that you can get!”

She looked at him, shocked. He had blue eyes and raven black hair.

“Really?”

“Yes, dotty eyed girl!”

“Loc. Pupilless eyed one.”

“Niko Saki.”

She noticed that he was handsome just like Ryu. She looked down, trying to keep herself emotionally distant. After all, she knew that he could die too. Yet she was also immortal so what was even the point of getting close to someone if they would always die? What was the point of even making more friends or any connection for that matter? No, it was better to stay closed off. It would be less painful that way.

So she did all to not look up and she kept to herself. She saw people talking to each other. She saw them laughing with each other. Some tried to come up to her and start a conversation but she tried to shut down the conversation. Mainly by ignoring them, mostly men. Yet there were some persistent ones that kept going.

“You know, I never would have thought that Paradtopia was evil until you came along!” Some would say before they would go on to telling her their life’s story. A thing that she did not remember asking. This happened until they finally reached the palace.

It was made of white marble with domed roofs and high and thin towers with golden spires at the top. Yet in the centre were a set of silver double doors with pink dragons stood rampant on a baby blue background painted in a thin pale rim.

What a beautiful palace!

Yet she knew that she did not have the time to focus upon that. She walked on and pressed the handles down and they opened to an interior that matched the exterior in beauty. Yet it was completely empty. The only audible sounds were the distant sounds of the dragon and her generals.

Yet as they walked in, she noticed, as her stomach dropped, that their steps echoed in the palace. This caused her to walk slowly as we walked to keep as silent as she could. The rest did the exact same thing too.

“Where are we going?”

“The pools.”

“What? The ones that were made by Paradtopia?”

She looked back with her eyebrows raised.

“She would regurgitate her stomach acid and the other dragons would do the same in the pools in their domain.”

At this her jaw dropped. She looked down in awe as she took her time to let that information settle in her mind. She looked down.

So this is one of the big three that I need to take down!

Hold on, her stomach acid makes those pools? Is that flammable? Is that why all of the other pools are flammable?

Doesn’t matter, I need to take those pools out. Then time to get on with it!

So she walked down to the lowest floor beneath the ground floor. She noticed that the size of the floors decreased until she came to the final floor. Ahead of her were three doors. They were all different sizes and completely plain. The walls were dull too.

This must be it.

She walked in. She quickly set fire to the three pools inside. Then and did the same to the other pools in the other two rooms. Then they left.
