The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twenty-Four

The Dragon King Lands They were able to get out of the stone tunnels and found out that it led to the middle of an open field with a layer of runes that were once a castle of old which was on the side of a mountain. Loc would have looked around with a gaping mouth if she knew that this was not the time for sight seeing. So they descended the ancient stone stairs and at the foot of a large and open field. She looked around for the pools and spotted that they were ahead. She soon set them all alight.  At this she could not help but feel a sense of satisfaction as she knew that, as Paradtopia was dead, Pendragon could no longer make any soldiers and with no more soldiers there would be no more armies. She let herself smile then cleaned herself and her clothes. The rest of the men and eagles did the same. Once they were all clothed and cleaned she saw a tiny shape in the sky. Yet as she looked at it, she saw that it was getting closer and closer and closer. Soon it blocked out th...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twenty-Three

The Final General They soon were able to come to another set of stairs. They all walked up to another set of double doors. They walked on and the doors opened to where Basilisk was. They all looked back for a moment then looked on. They let out a deep breath. Now was the time to take out the last general. Once this one was taken out then it would be the last dragon. This would mean that all the people of this world would be free from the fear and terror of the dragons and would be able to sleep safe and sound, knowing that the morning will bring a new world and a new way of life. Some men could feel excitement run throughout them. Some wondered what they would do after this and with their new found freedom. Some dreamed of marrying that woman they wanted. Others, finally confessing their love to her. Others just wanted to see their wives and enjoy her comfort by a cozy and warm fire and rest in her arms. Wrapped by her love and kindness. With a tender intimacy that only married co...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twenty-Two

Oroch Once they had eaten and rested and attended to the wounded. Those that could moved on. They came to a set of stone stairs leading up. Seeing that there was no other way, they all walked up the stairs with their guards up. They all kept their eyes trained upon the darkness ahead. They soon came to a group of stones and they had to move them out of the way which made the staircase lighter. Then they walked on and saw more and moved them out of the way, yet all of them were able to keep their guards up.  Loc, in particular, kept her guard up the most as she did not want to be eaten again. She also noticed that she smelt. Yet she pushed past the scent and made sure she went on and on and on. Soon they came to a set of double doors with the same lion on them. The moment that they arrived at the set, they opened. They all looked at each other and then looked ahead of them. Ahead of them was a sleeping hydra the size of a five floored mansion with thirteen heads! The moment th...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twenty-One

Kuromaru It was in the morning two days after the final army’s fall when they arrived at a set of double doors. Both doors had twin tailed lions standing rampant. Lions, that Loc could swear, could see her and cheering her on, along with the army. She could almost feel their pride at how far she had come over the past year, since she came to this world. It was like their courage was oozing out and entering each and every one of them. Upon coming to the front of the doors, they opened. She walked in and spotted the glowing green water running parallel to each other at the sides of the cave-like structure. This illuminated the whole tunnel with a good but dim light. They kept their eyes trained on the centre where it was the most dark. They all stayed there a while out of caution. Upon seeing that there was nothing coming out the heads and Loc looked at each other. “So, do we walk in?” “As it is obvious that Kuromaru isn’t coming out, it seems that we don’t have a choice.” “What’s t...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twenty

The Fall Of The Final Army It was night when they arrived. Loc looked around. She looked back for a moment then at the eagles. She knew what to do. So she, along with every head of the armies, looked around and circled the entire camp and noticed all of them and she counted all of them. Good. “So, your plan?” “Strike from the air. Take out as many wings as we can. Then get the ones on the ground to take care of them.” “Isn’t that all that we’ve been doing woman?” “Brother!” “Yes, but this time there are no nasty surprises.” He nodded. So they all went back and the eagle riders mounted upon their eagles. They almost flung themselves into the air. Then they looked down at the camp. Both rider and eagle loaded their arrows and fired at the wings. This took out fifty wings. Immediately after both went onto taking out fifty more and another and another and another.  Yet the remaining fifty woke up and looked up and shot to the air. Yet as they spread their wings and flapped them ...

The Final Fourth Division  They all arrived at the camp of the fourth division at half three. Yet it felt like it was later, mainly due to the sun going down quicker. This made Loc secretly hope to get this over and done with within a week. After all, she knew that it would not be good to fight Pendragon or be risking fighting him in the winter. Especially with these men. She looked down to see that the giant wyverns were all going to and fro. All seemed more vigilant than the last. She could tell that they were getting ready for a fight. This caused hoe to travel to the left and then further on down wind. That was when they saw a group in front of them. “The wings.” She spoke before they released a wave of fire. They all dived behind her. She stopped the flames. Then pushed them up. The men all charged on and some men hopped onto the backs of the eagles. Then they fired at the wings of the giant wyverns. Then the giant wyverns at the back started to fly up and they followed,...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Eighteen

The Final Third Division  They all had been marching for two hours, only taking a break for a quick lunch. Kai made sure to walk by Loc. “How are you not harmed?” He demanded. “I saw you fall and get hit several times and there is not a scratch on you.” “I’m immortal.” “Oh?” She let out a sigh. “This was not my choice. I was forced to become this way.” He looked to the side with a curled lip. “How?” “I was captured when I was no older than seventeen by a cult called the Sunburners. Mainly as a tool to be used against my sisters. Yet they had to make me immortal in order to make sure I survived giving birth to a star.” “A what!?” “Actually I vomited it up.” “Oh.” His eyes narrowed. “Are all of the stars of your world made that way?” “No.” He nodded as his lip curled more. “And is that your secret?” “No…I don’t think so…” She looked down as they walked on and on in silence for a moment. “And what is it like?” She winced. “Painful. Yet when I start to itch…” His eyes widened as ...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Seventeen

The Final Second Division  It was at ten when they arrived at the camp of the next division of the giant wyverns. She looked around and could count that there were four hundred. “So, how many are there?” “Four hundred.” “Your plan?” “Attack right now, meanwhile I will be stopping as much of the fire as I can.” Kai nodded. “Don’t be such a girl.” “Brother!” “Actually, there are only four hundred and about twenty thousand of us. It’s almost barely fair!” “Oh.” “Now let’s go.” Soon they all drew their blades and arrows. The eagles and their riders were in the air. Then they all shot down as silently as they could with the group on the ground sliced their necks. They did this again and again and again. Soon the four hundred were dead. “Well, that was swift.” “I know! That was easy.” “Yes. Far too easy.” One of the men opened their mouth, but before he could say anything, that was when they saw a blast of fire landed on the left. They all looked at it for a moment and then at the ...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Sixteen

Strike Of The Final Army It was early in the morning and the sun had not yet risen. Loc knew that this was the best time to arrive and take the first division out. She, along with all the men and eagles, were tired of waiting for all the armies to arrive and knew that it was time to take the battle to them. She looked down to see the giant wyverns the size of houses. Then she looked back. “What’s your suggestion?” “Why ask her?” “Brother.” “Sh! They will hear.” “Oh, right. Thank you!” “Don’t thank her, you should have known better!” “Well we go from the to go from the to the top and at all sides. We will have to take out as many as we can while they sleep. Yet the moment that they wake up is when we need to worry.” “The rest nodded.” “Coward!” “Strategic. Also, we need to pay attention as much as we can.” “Right.” “Is this-” “Not the time. So all of you, tell the others and the first thing to do it take them out before they even come round or wake up.” “Right.” “I still don’t like...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Fifteen

The Gathering Men Loc had a long and heavy sleep, right up until late morning. She could feel like her body was like it had been covered in water. She could see that everyone in the camp had found more dead to bury. Then she could smell that they were cooking and she could hear them laughing.  She could not help but feel a smile rest upon her lips. She was glad that they were all getting along. Yet she could not help but feel a shadow of dread pass over her. She could sense that all of this is nothing more than a calm before the storm. She could even swear that the clouds had become grey and thicker.  Her eyes rested upon a group that were dancing. Her eyes looked down, wondering how many would be left once Pendragon was dead. Yet she knew that she could not allow herself to become close to any of them. But she knew that after all of this, she should try to get to know at least some of them. When she could feel that her body was ready, she moved around. “How are you Comm...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Fourteen

The Final Unit They all woke at nine at night. They all had a quick tea before they looked at the fiery horizon. They were all well rested but they all knew that they needed more. Yet after this, they all decided to bury and mourn the dead and have a good sleep. Maybe right into midday.  After all, they all knew that they would have to pack their backs and get a move on to the next place to go to attack the last army before going onto the generals and finally Pendragon. Yet, none of them allowed themselves to think about that. Nor his generals either. The least amount of dread in the room the better. They did not see the first head until between eleven to twelve. Loc looked up, for a moment, then looked at Elijah. He looked back at her and nodded. She was soon on his back and they all took to the skies. She looked down and could count ten at the front, yet even though she could see three rows, she could only just see two more obscured by the darkness. So she looked on to take...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Thirteen

The Fourth Unit After a good rest at half past three, they all got to their feet. Loc could see the first heads as the sun started going down and low on the horizon with the first stars faintly coming out. She looked at Elijah. He nodded and soon she was on his back and in the air and she looked down. She counted the hydras on the first row and found ten and only nine rows. Ninety. Good. We can win this. “How many?” “Ninety.” “Significantly less.” “Getting dark. Now get down.” So they were back on the ground. “Same plan, but we need to get as much fire lit on the battlefield as we can after the battle. That way we will be able to see better.” “Right.” So all the eagles set off and all of them were in the sky. The eagles loaded their bows and fired the arrows at the eyes of the first row, then the second row and the third row.  Yet the fourth row looked up and let out a blast of fire. She stopped it and Elijah fired the arrow. Then she parted the fire. Then they returned to fi...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Twelve

The Third Unit It had been half an hour after eating their lunch when the first hydra was seen. It had three heads. Yet Loc took to the sky and looked down. She saw thirteen on the first row. She then looked on to see that there were eleven rows. Which made her stomach drop slightly. One hundred and forty three… This one is going to take a lot out of us. Even though it will be hard, as long as we are able to get to those stomachs, it won’t be unbeatable… Which means we need to get those eyes taken out as soon as we can. So she looked down. “I have a plan. First eagles, pair up with a man. All of you, aim for those eyes. Once they are all blinded, the rest of the men, and myself, will slice the stomachs. Meanwhile you stay in the air and keep the heads occupied. Right.” “Right.” So fifty of the men climbed on the backs of the eagles and were all in the air. Loc was on Elijah’s back and she looked down. The eagles and the men archers loaded their bows and fired at each eye. They did...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Eleven

The Second Wave It was half none in the morning and Loc, the army of men and the eagles had had a good half an hour break. They woke up and out on the battlefield. They all had decided to camp outside the wall. After all, they all knew that they would have to get to the spot and a wall would take up too much time to get through. They soon saw the first heads and gulped as they all grabbed their weapons. Then they looked out for how many there were. The one looked directly at Loc and then Elijah. She nodded at him then looked back at the hydra. “Get to the air!” She called. He looked at her and nodded. They shot to the air and zoomed to the upper section of the sky and she looked down. Then she counted how many hydras there were and she counted twelve in the front row and she then went on to count the ten rows. Which led her to calculate that there were one hundred and twenty. She looked down and nodded. They shot down and addressed them all. “There are one hundred and twenty. Eagl...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Ten

The Next Army Strike  Loc woke up at four in the morning. She then woke everyone else up. Then at quarter past four they ate a quick breakfast. At half past, they all dawned their armour. At quarter to five they were all at the battlefield. Loc and several more let out a deep breath. All of them knew that they were on edge.  She saw the first hydra. It had three heads and then she saw another two. The one on the right had five and the one on the left had four. She looked on as she saw fifteen more. All had heads going from one head to ten. Yet as eighteen more appeared they all started to feel their hearts in their ears. They wanted to go on but they knew that they had to wait as twenty eight more came, then another fourth nine, then twenty four, then fifteen and ending with the last five. One hundred and fifty seven! That’s beatable, but barely… That was when she saw them gallop on and on and on. She too charged on and on. She could see that some surrounding her were af...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Nine

More Soldiers  It was late in the morning when Loc woke up. She thought about the ten men and fifty eagles. The battles the two days before. Her body ached and she felt tension in her chest and upper abdomen. She felt cold too. She let out a deep breath as she shakily slipped out of the bed. Then slowly she walked to the chair next to the window. Once she sat down and looked outside to the black patch on the horizon. Now that is one down, yet I know that ten men and eagles just will not beat what’s ahead. Yeah, which means I will need more but I don’t think I want to convince people to commit suicide! No, if they all die then I will have to do all to do this myself.  But why? Why am I doing this? No one likes it when I try to help them! But what if, by some luck, I find a piece of one of the Reality Spheres? What then? That was when Wolf Raven’s words echoed in her head. “Just the opposite, my dear. After all, I did tell you didn’t I? I’m going to make a feast of you. Se...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Eight

The Final Division Of  The First Army It was early in the evening when they saw that dust cloud on the horizon. Loc had barely gained consciousness and the men had barely had a good rest. Yet they all got to their feet as they walked to their eagle, who also had barely had a good rest. They all collected their bows and arrows. Some yawned as they did this, as without a good nap, their minds could not wake up the way that they needed to be. Despite this, they all soldiered on.  Then they took to the air. Loc had to press her hand against Peble’s edge to wake herself up. The rest saw this then they pressed the arrows to their collar bone, making sure it was deep enough to wake them up but too shallow to cause any real damage. Then they took out their torches.  They all took a deep breath and sharpened their minds as they reached the first row. Loc counted that there were one hundred again. She looked around to see that there were five men at each side. Which meant tha...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Seven

The Third Round It was early in the morning and the sun had not yet risen. All the soldiers, eagles and Loc ate all the food that the king brought to them as fast as they could before they had to prepare for the battle ahead. She breathed in and out.  She remembered the events the afternoon before and knew that that was the best strategy. Yet she knew that if the wyrms would like at the end then they would have to rise higher faster. So, as her eyes rested upon the horizon, while they still had time, they went out and practiced that. Once they were in the air, she saw the dust cloud. They all collected their torches and the eagles got their bows and arrows. As soon as they were on their backs they set off. The moment that the wyrms saw them they all let their fire out of their mouths. She stopped it and pushed it back. That was then the men set the tips of the first arrows and fired. Then the heads pushed out of the fire. They went to the ones nearest to them. Then the arrows...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Six

The Second Wyrm Division  It was in the afternoon when they saw the next division on the horizon. Loc looked at the men that were still alive. She looked at the eagles and then back at the ones that were coming and did not like her odds. She looked at the eagles and noticed that more of them, which meant that they would have to do more of the heavy lifting. She bit the bottom lip as she knew that she needed to get all of this done as fast as she could. So she looked at the men and the eagles. Soon an idea came to mind. One that was still a long shot but it was the best one that she had. So she jumped down and looked at them. “Alright, they’re coming.” “What?” “Now!” “But we hardly survived the last time!” “Shut it! All you abled men, get a torch each. Eagles, get your bow anf arrows! Then pick a man, men you get on their backs, Elijah, I will be on you.” “Why?” “No time to explain. But on the battlefield, you will know.” She said as she climbed on his back. Then they were so...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Five

A Narrow Victory  Her eyes opened. She heard the muffled cries all around her. Her body was covered in a warm liquid that stuck and smelt of iron, meat and something else. She looked around to see that there were many bodies around her in the dim light. She swam on and on and soon reached a moist and soft wall ahead of her. She pulled out her sword and dug it into the wall. She then dragged the blade down. Soon the acid poured out and into the rest of the body. Yet she had to keep cutting to the other sides and then in the centre. She was soon pushed out of the stomach. She dug her blade into the inner flesh. She sliced down then pushed herself out of the body. She let in a gasp of fresh air but she knew that she could not rest. So she used her fire power and pushed it on to the head. She then put the fire out and let the gravity push her body down and she kept her blade and it dug into the skull. Then she pulled it out and thrust her fire into the hole. She looked up to the ...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Four

The First strike Loc and the rest woke up early. They all cleaned and sharpened their blades and arrows. The eagles looked at each and every arrow and counted them all. They then went on to check their bows. Once they knew that they were all ready, they all set off to the spot where the first division of the army would be.  They saw the wyrms appearing on the horizon. She spotted how big they were and could not help but think of Surpenti and her body. She noticed just how small she was compared to them.  She could feel fear rise like a wave as they came closer and closer and closer. She could feel herself shaking slightly. She had to let out a deep breath as she noticed that there were some men that were shaking too. One looked at her with nothing but fear in his eyes with sweat surrounding them. That was the only thing that she could see in his eyes. Yet despite this he looked on; however she could not help but notice his eyes dropping to the left. She looked down to see...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Three

A Convened Army Loc had only just finished her lunch when an army of soldiers arrived. At this she charged at them and went to strike the first one. Only for their blades to meet. “Woah there!” He sang as he raised his helmet revealing the black eyes and brunette hair and short beard. “We’re not one of Pendragon’s armies!” “Oh. And who are you?” That was when another took off his helmet. He had green hair and brown eyes with a blond goatie. “We are the knights of King Su. The true king of this land. Yet he sent us here to help you in any way we can! After all, we can tell that this will be the only time that this planet can be really free from the dragons forever. A thing that our king has been praying for since he could speak!” She nodded. “Do you have a name?” “Sir Kakashi.” Her eyes returned to the one whose sword and hers were still touching. “And you?” “Sir Gin.” She nodded. “And why hasn’t he tried to take down Pendragon, himself?” “He has. As all kings of this land have don...

The Nine Dragons The Dragon King Part Two

A Reunion Of The Eagles  They quickly found an abandoned building to camp in. There, they stayed the night as Loc read the book and took several naps in between. When the sun rose, she knew that the eagles would shortly be on their way. Yet she knew that they would have less than twenty four hours to get ready for battle. However she had to focus upon getting ready to welcome them.  So she dashed into the city and quickly returned the book before shooting back to the building. Then she spotted a group of people gathered by them. She walked towards them, wondering why they were there. Yet upon seeing their eyes as they looked at her she suspected it was to see her. Even though she just did not want to admit it to herself.  After all, they did not know her or what she was. If they did then they would not be looking at her like she was some amazing hero. No, they would be running away from her in nothing but fear. Hoping that she did not know their names or faces. Yet,...
