The Ring Of Protection And The Ring Of Destruction

There was once a King who loved his daughter and wanted to protect her. He did not want to restrict her either, so he took the best twig of his ivy in his most beautiful of gardens and turned it into a silver ring without a thorn upon it. He then placed a blessing upon it so that it would protect the one who wore it from evil. He then gave it to his young daughter.

Then, one day she lost the ring to a thief. Angrily,  she chased the man as his face scarred her mind. She only stopped when she was out of breath and he was far too far from the horizon. Yet she knew that the ring was now lost.

She knelt there, weeping. She wept and wept until an old lady passed her by. She caught the princesses' attention as the princess brought the old ladies'.

"My deer, why are you crying?" She asked sweetly.

"I am crying because a man stole my ring given to me by my father!" She replied.

"My! What an awful man! How about you come home with me and I will teach you my arts so that you can have your revenge?" She offered and the princess accepted.

As it turned out the old lady was a witch and the princess became her apprentice. When she had learnt everything that she had to teach her, she returned to her kingdom and her father. When she greeted her father, she let him cry over her and hugged him. She let a smile out on her thin lips as he kissed her. He was utterly overwhelmed by his emotions.

She then, later that week, walked in the rosebush gardens and spotted a small rose that was growing and picked it. She sharpened its thorns and turned it into a black metal and placed a powerful curse upon it. It would bring destruction to the one who wears it.

Knowing that she would need someone to test it on she knew her next victim. As she knew that she was to be next in line for the throne, and that if her father was to remarry and have a son she would become the second, she gave it to him in order to prevent this. Yet she felt nothing for him or any form of hesitation giving it to him.

The next day he died falling down the stairs. Seeing this she let her crocodile tears fall and wore black using her grief to mask her new look. Yet even after the funeral and coronation she never stopped wearing black.

The moment that she became Queen she ordered everyone to look for the thief that stole her ring all those years ago. But this was to no avail. Yet despite all her efforts none could find him. So she tried to use her arts to find him but this too was in vain.

Then one day the thief returned to the land and snuck into her quarters and took the ring and killed the Queen. He disappeared before the court knew that she was dead. There was no trace of him to be found. Then, a year later a man was subjected to a mental hospital for a severe case of madness. On his fingers were two rings. The two rings that were responsible for this madness. One was the ring of protection that protected him from all evil and the other the ring of destruction that brought it to him…
