Scar Adventures Beyond The Door Arc Part One

 The Move

Number Thirteen Johan Close has a history of strange disappearances. People who bought the house would come in and never be seen again with only their belongings as proof that they were even there. There were no corpses, no body parts, nothing! So none wanted to buy it. Even less when the superstitions arose causing nine to even want to go near it or pull it down. It was cheap, yet getting cheaper.

It was in the year twenty ten August the eleventh, when a woman known as Charlotte Cox bought and moved into it. She had ash brown hair and true hazel eyes and sandy skin. She was from Scarborough and so were her three adopted children. She knew nothing of the superstitions nor the stories surrounding the place. No, she wanted a change of scenery, or that is what she claimed. She also wanted this more for her adopted children.

These adopted children were Scarborough Cox, Scar for short, the eldest at the age of twelve and the fraternal twins Bill and Bliss, both ten. Scar had jet black hair that had a dark blue shine to it, like the feathers of a raven,  that flowed from her head like a waterfall at night. Her face was deathly pale,  this made her look as if she was ill constantly. This with her scarlet eyes and her cold beauty gave her a creepy vampiric look. Meanwhile,  Bill and Bliss both had dark copper hair with scarlet eyes too, but with their warm, healthy peach skin with full rosy cheeks gave them a warm and welcoming look.

They drove up into the large house, it had three floors, including the attic and was the size of two regular houses and a room was on the left with an equally large room to the right. The burgundy door was in the center with three windows at the top. The driveway was to the left and a front garden area to the right. Yet the structure made it look as if it was pulled out of a fantasy novel. It was beautiful!

"We're gonna live there?!" Commented Bliss.

"Yes!" Charlotte said as she parked.

After they all got out of the car Scar noticed that people were looking at them with strange looks. Almost like they were pieces of dirt, others out of pity. Then there were the ones that were doing their best not to look at them at all! This made her suspicious of them.

"Yo, Scar are you alright?" Called Bill.

She turned to him and smiled. She touched her fedora.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" She said with a sly smile.

"Oh, will you stop doing that?" Bliss snapped as she slapped her hand down. "Seriously! On a guy it looks cool but you make it look weird!"

"First, someone special gave this to me, and second when have I ever not been weird?" She snapped back.

"Oh, why couldn't I've had a normal sister? You know, one that wears dresses and that I can play dolls with?"

Scar put her arm around her.

"Sorry, but you're shtick with me!"

She groaned.

"Don't remind me!"

"Oi, you two cut it out! I wanna get my bedroom sorted by tonight! After all, I don't wanna have to wait a moment longer away from my games!"

"Fine,  but I'm not doing any heavy lifting!"

"You'll do your fair share Bliss!" Snapped Charlotte.

"Yes mum!" She moaned.

"Enough of that. Here, take this to your room." She said as she gave her a box, which she almost dropped. "Be careful."

"I'm sorry mum! It's just too heavy!"

"Then start working out! Seriously, you need to develop those muscles!"

"But I'm a girl! This stuff is what men are for!"

"I-it's alright. I'll do it!" She said as she lifted it. "Wow! Bill's right!"

"Oh, come on!"

"Bliss, take the lamp!"

"Aren't they heavy too?"

"Not as heavy as that!"

She took the lamp reluctantly.

"See?"

It took them three hours to get unpacked, with mainly Scar,  Bill and Charlotte doing all the work. Inside there were two equally large rooms parallel to each other with a staircase in the center. At the back to the left was a large kitchen with a large conservatory and to the right was a downstairs bathroom equipped with a shower and a storage room the size of a small bedroom. Upstairs there were five bedrooms, two ahead, two beside the stairs and a master bedroom at the left end of the hallway and a bathroom equipped with both a shower and a bath at the other end. Yet the staircase rose higher to the attic.

Once they had all chosen their rooms, Scar was on the right in between the stairs and the bathroom,  Charlotte the master bedroom and Bliss was in the room opposite Scar and Bill was in the one in between Charlotte and Bliss.

They spent another hour setting everything up. Yet, for Scar throughout the whole time she felt a strange calling that she could not quite understand not liked.
