The Nine Dragons Dracula, The Dragon Prince Part Nineteen
The Second General
They all ran up the stairs and noticed that they were getting narrower and narrower and narrower until all of them were running in single file. Loc looked back, signalling that she was to go in first and that they were to repeat the plan. So, when they saw the door she ran on. She looked down at the handle and pulled it down and walked in.
She felt something around her neck. The next moment she flew in the air and crashed into the ground in the centre of the room. Yet she rolled when she did. She felt the itching as she got up. She then saw more and more falling beside her. However, she knew that it was not the right time to pay any attention to them just yet.
She looked on to see the creature in the shape of a winged drake, just longer than the rest.
It pulled in the men at the door and threw them in the room. However she could see the drool falling from the chin. So she ran and ran and ran. Then it happened, the general bit into the throat of one of the eagles before throwing him away like he was rubbish with a disgusted look on its face. Then he grabbed a man and bit into his throat and it's lips curled up as he did it again and again and again until she went to stab the back.
The next thing that she saw was the tail wrapped around Peble. Yet she was soon looking at eyes that were filled with hunger that could have only belonged to that of a wolf.
“Oh, sorry. I was not meant to do that.” He spoke like a child. “But I can not help it.”
That was when he closed the door and took a step toward her. She could feel his breath upon her
“Even when I was a man I could not help it! If any man or woman I liked the look of I knew that I had to eat them! I would follow them for hours and hours until they were all alone. Then I would take a rock and hit them. Then I would take them home where I would-”
That was then she felt a bite in her shoulder. She bit into her lip as she felt the pain flared up. Then it let out a sound that a child would make after drinking. Then he licked his lips and laughed.
“I would always go for the spots that won’t kill them. Then they would be me for hours and hours for me to stop but that was the best part. I would even get a special little fighter like you and I would fight them until they knew that they could not escape. Then I would strap them down as I would play with them until they begged for death. But I would not give it until I drank their tears.
“Then when the army gifted me the taste of my own medicine and what a glorious day that was! I enjoyed eating my way to the top!”
Not wanting to hear any more she kneed his tail and stabbed between the legs before pushing on. The next thing that she was seeing was the blast of fire coming at her.she dodged out of the way as she sent it away. Then she saw his blades coming down upon her. She put Peble away and pulled out Rock and Stone. She was about to hammer the wrists when she saw the blades at the other side. Only to see that they were attached to the fingers. Yet upon closer look she spotted they were welded upon the hand! Then it struck her arm. Then she felt more in her gut. She looked down to see the feet were in the exact same condition!
Her eyes widened as she saw the rest were able to flood in. Then the general turned back and blasted fire at them. This gave Loc her opening. So she pulled back and went to hammer the palm but he jumped up and grabbed her by her head and pulled her up. She flew in the air. She looked down to see a wall of fire beneath her! Quickly she parted the flames only to see nothing there. Then she felt the teeth in the other shoulder.
Quickly she hit behind her. Then the jaws painfully pulled away. She bit her lip to stop herself from crying out. Yet she noticed that the creature was flying higher and higher.
“So you can control fire!”
She went to strike him again but she felt the blades in the back of her thighs come out the other side of them.
“How about a little bit of screaming?”
Yet she looked at the talons around her arms. She whacked across and he let go. She pushed the fire out of her feet and swung up. She hit the heads of her hammers down upon the shoulders. Causing him to hit the ground hard as the rest dived at him. They saw his head go to strike them but they dived back and men behind him drove the tips of their blades into his back. He looked back as she hit the head as hard as she could. She then hit the head again and again and again until there was nothing left.
“What is it?”
She looked away as she cringed.
“That thing wasn’t human, not even when he was a man.”
Not wanting to say more she walked on. Not even wanting to think any more about the general.
