Eva And Withele' Mytholonia And Legendara Arc Part Two
Return To Mytholonia
It had been seven years since Eva have been to Mytholonia and she had
just turned twelve, although she had celebrated it in a tent, and she
had to pretend that she was five years older. See when she had
returned, what she had told her adopted mother of her adventure, it
was all too clear that she did not believe her and had her visit a
psychologist and soon had her in therapy. It soon became clear that
he was the only one around her that believed what she had said and
did all to make sure that her adopted mother knew this too. This she
did not like one bit, so after four years she hoped that shock
therapy would do the trick so she had snook her into the army, hoping
that she would become so shocked that she would admit that she had
made the whole thing up. However after a year of training and going
on missions it became clear that there was something amiss.
See all those missions all survived and she had not fired a single
bullet. Then there was those who had always joined her on missions,
who had always put in their reports that strange things always
happened when she was on the team, like there was this one incident
where all of the enemies would end up miraculously blind. Then there
was the bizarre fog that had protected another from the fire line of
their enemies and they were able to take then down and collect
prisoners. And there was another time when a nest of bees fell on the
enemies. However they had also reported that she would show some
slight signs of exhaustion despite the fact that she had done
nothing, and she was only dragged to the important ones as a lucky
charm.
Then there was Mr Whiskers, he was the biggest piece of evidence that
Mytholonia existed and that she had really been there. She had always
found her quiet moments were mainly spent with him. She even
convinced her adopted mother to let him tag along with her wherever
she went. This was to a point that they were never apart. The only
time that they were was when she was taking a shower.
This was something that the army had noticed too, so with the whole
strange incidents that had always tipped the balance to their
favour, they had nicknamed her Lucky Witch to her adopted mother's
displeasure.
Then, a year ago she was moved from the ground to the sky and was
trained up as a pilot and given a rank too. She had flown to many
places and had done so much that she wished that she could tell her
mother but she was told that, that was not the best thing to do.
“Loose lips sink ships!” Sara, her eldest adopted sister had told
her again and again.
Now that she was twelve she was on her first mission near the Bermuda
Triangle. She knew that she would have to keep what had happened to
her when she was five a secret as dark as night. She would also have
to keep her temptation to return at bay as well. She could feel Mr
Whiskers asleep on her lap and knew that it was time to set off.
When she and Kai, her co-pilot were in the air they were soon close
to the place but there was a storm in front of her. Knowing that she
could not afford to go around she flew through. She looked at the
lightening around her feeling awe at the whole thing until she felt
the jolt. The plane shook and soon there seemed to be an invisible
force dragging her close to the Triangle. She spotted that the
engines were crushed by something too.
“What's going on!?” Kai shouted.
“I dunno!” she lied. She knew what was going on and that there
was only one thing to do, she had to let the plane pass into the
triangle. So she let go of the controls and let the plane cross and
it soon became clear that in spite of resisting her temptation, she
was going back to Mytholonia. She saw the island and took this to be
her cue and snapped off the magic that was guiding her to wherever it
was taking her. She then used her magic aiming her to land safely on
the spot where Olf was but she soon felt a surge and crashed onto the
beech and her head was hit.
She woke up amongst fire with a blanket over her body.
“Wh-what happened?” she asked.
“We crashed and our jet exploded. It's a miracle that we're still
alive.” Kai said.
“N-no, it was magic.” she said still coming round until it his
her. “Mr Whiskers!”
“He's alright, and what do you mean by magic?”
“I'll explain later as for now, we have got to get moving. If we're
near the site then whoever was behind that storm would be coming
here.”
“Behind the storm?”
“There was magic in that storm. That's why we could not help but be
pulled back in.”
Kai raised his eyebrow.
“Really? That's believable.” he said sarcastically.
“Well-”
That was when they saw it, an army of spiders racing towards them
like a fly to a light. Then as they came closer it all became clear
that they were all poisonous! Seeing this Eva looked behind her and
spotted that fortunately the fire was still burning. She closed her
eyes to eliminate the distractions and focused. She remembered that
night when she was five and then focused on directing the fire.
The fire rose and dived to the spiders, incinerating all who the
flame touched. She weaved side to side until they were all dead.
She knelt down as she spotted a woman hidden in the trees. She had
pail skin with blood red lips and long black hair, but it was her
eyes that unnerved her the most, for they were black, like a void.
She was wearing a Japanese kimono with a spider design.
She smiled slightly as she turned into the forest. Eva got to her
feet and ran after her. Kai quickly followed and he quickly caught up
to her and put a firm hand on her shoulder.
“What's going on?” he snapped.
“Let go of me or she'll get away!” she shouted as she looked at
where the woman was but spotted that she was no longer there.
Realising that she had lost her she kicked some mud in the ground
only to hear a ting. Frowning she looked down to see that it was a
trap door. Mr Whiskers scratched at it.
“A trap door?”
“I see...We're at Olf's place.” she said as she pulled the door
up.
She walked down the stairs. Only to be greeted by a mess covered with
webbing. Her eyes widened as she looked at the whole thing. As she
walked in she spotted that some of the webbing was carefully
positioned. As she looked closer she spotted that the webbing had
words weaved into the webbing.
“'Come to where Melinda, the snake queen was murdered'? What does
that mean?”
“I think I know what this it all about. Now I'd like it if you stay
here with Mr Whiskers and clean up this place.” she said. She
looked down at the cat. “It's alright, they won't kill Olf. At
least not until I'm there, and Kai, I don't want you to follow me. I
need to do this alone.”
Kai nodded as she left and climbed up the stairs. She looked around
trying to remind herself where it was and the moment that she did she
retraced the path that she had taken all those years ago in the arms
of that snake-lady. She shivered slightly as she remembered what
happened to her on that night. She soon found herself at the place
that she was tormented by those snake-people.
“Well, well, you came!” came an ice cold voice behind her. She
jumped back and instantly adopted her fighting stance. She took out
her gun and pointed it at the woman before her. It was the woman
before, but this time she spotted the spider legs coming from her
back!
“What-”
“Well I am the queen of the Jorogumo. And I was quite close to my
half sister which you burnt.”
“And let me guess, you're here to take revenge?”
“Well are we not smart? But I will not kill you quickly. No that
would be too good for that witches daughter. I will bite you and only
realise a small amount of my venom into your body and let me watch
you slowly die as your insides slowly turn to soup then you shall
endure the pain of feeling all of your insides from being pulled out
of you.” she explained as her mouth widened and then her teeth and
her lips merged and from the corners came a pair of fangs that curled
inwards like two hooks that expanded. Then on her forehead six other
eyes opened like beads.
She dived for her but she dived out of the way. She pointed a gun at
her as her hand stared to shake. She tried to use her magic but she
felt a greater magic pressurise hers causing it to be suppressed. She
found herself kneeling as whatever happened sapped her energy.
She then spotted a shadow. She looked up and dived sidewards as to
avoid another dive. She tried to pull up the gun again but then came
a web. She looked at where it came from. Only to see that it came
from the behind of the Jorogumo like a sticky tail. She felt her self
shake as she placed her hand on the webbing and pulled. Forcing her
to let go of the gun.
She felt her legs back away as she raised her own gun to her and
fired. Eva dodged in time as she ran from her. She then ran right
into a web. She tried to get out but it was far too sticky. Then she
felt a ripple as a great weight hit her back. She looked back to see
that she had been hit by a large strand of webbing. She was a fly in
the trap and she knew it.
She was reminded of what happened back when she was five and she knew
that now, she was even more helpless than she was. Knowing this
brought tear to he eyes.
“Withele'?” she heard a weak voice say. She looked up to see Olf
looking down at her. “W-what are you doing here? Y-you shouldn't be
here! Y-you should be safe.”
She closed her eyes. She could not let herself be killed in front of
her, no, she was fer too kind to see that. Nor should she die either.
That was when she felt something on her back. She looked back to see
Kai between her and the Jorogumo queen. There was smoke between them.
She then collapsed. Then her web shrivelled up. She dropped and went
immediately to him. He looked at her his eyes were the only thing
that displayed his pain.
“I know and hear what will happen.” he said as he pulled the gun
up. “And I don't want to go through that.”
“No! Don't! We'll find-”
“Withele' there is not anything we can do for him. Here are no
cures for Jorogumo venom.” she explained. Then with another bang he
was gone.
They burnt the body of the Jorogumo and berried Kai.
“Is it time for me to stay?”
“Yes.”
