Bounty Hunter Bash Isle Heat Lock Part Three
The Tribe
Bash woke up, she felt something around her wrists and ankles. She looked down and back to see the bindings and could hear the whimpering of those around her. After blinking several times, she saw more people around her. Yet none of them were from the ship. She looked around to get a better idea of what she was dealing with and spotted the bamboo bars and the material that the bindings were made of looked like straw or hay. Even though she knew it was not. She looked at all the bindings to see that her legs and arms were bound by that material.
“Bash! Are you alright?” Leonardo whispered behind her.
She tried to roll back but something hit her. So she looked back to see that it was him and beyond that were Zaryb and Chashathrophogh. She looked around for Strena and Cerpheres.
“Where are Strena and Cerpheres?”
“Don’t know.”
“He better not do anything to her!”
“Who are all these people?”
“I don’t know but they all look local to this isle.”
She nodded as she heard footsteps around. She looked up to see Strena and Cerpheres coming at them. Yet the next thing she noticed was the lack of buildings they had.
“Ooh! Looks like the sleeping beauties are awake!”
“Cerpheres! What’s going on and why is it that you two are the only ones not tied up?”
“Easy tiger and we will explain.”
“Well, I told the tribe that my name is Strena and all of them went as white as a piece of paper. So they took me aside, telling me that they had to let me go as it was bad luck to kill anyone by that name. So they let me go, but as Cerpheres was the only one awake that could translate what they were saying, they let him go.”
“Although you wouldn’t like what you’re being taken for.”
Bash and Chashathrophogh were hit again.
“What?”
“A ritual of cannibalism!”
“Oh and?”
“We have a plan. After all, this is the only tribe on this isle that does this so we think that we will fight them and get everyone to safety.”
“Oh, and how are we to do that without-”
That was when Strena and Cerpheres slid all the weapons they had through the bars and kicked them to them.
“Thank me later!” He purred as they left.
Yet then all of them were able to escape and Bash through the bamboo.
“What now?”
“Fight the tribe. Then get everyone here to safety.”
“Right.”
So they all ran in the direction of the tribe.
Yet when they arrived the first thing that they noticed was that there were no children outside. However, they did see a screaming woman was hit. She had half of the flesh of her head flapping over her ear. Quickly Bash dived at the two men and raised her bow and shot at each of their hearts. Then she looked at an old man who was unconscious. His arms were missing but his shallow breath told her that he was alive but on his last breaths so she shot at him out of mercy. She looked up and saw more men and women of the tribe and fired at them again and again and again.
She looked around and saw Zaryb fling his tiny daggers at a group. Then another group was taken out by a blast of fire.
“Cerpheres!”
“Yeees?”
“Heal as much as you can.”
“Why?”
“You will be able to watch us do our thing as you do your thing. And have an excuse to busy yourself with!”
“Oh! Okay!”
So he dived at the woman and quickly healed her and reached a man with his forearm completely gone and he was soon healed. Then he went to another with his hand missing and soon closed the sound and healed it into a stump. He went to another one and this time it was her foot. He went to one after the other and then he looked up as she saw one coming at him and fired at them. Then saw one just about to kill him but she fired at that group. He licked his lips.
Nick of time! He thought, chuckling slightly.
Then they all dived at the tents to see more men and women in the middle of eating the arms of the dead old men and shot at them. She soon moved on and saw a couple eating a pair of small arms. Yet she did not remember there being any children or babies or short people among the prisoners. However she did not have the time to focus upon that as she moved onto the next one as they ate another pair of small limbs yet they were slightly larger than the last one. She kept going and going as she suddenly felt the nausea building as her subconscious realized something that her conscious mind was too busy to think about. Yet soon the whole tribe was dead and she did.
“Why were there no children in that tribe?” Bash finally asked.
“I don’t know, but let’s get these back to their tribes.”
They soon had all the women and men freed.
“Where do you come from?”
A woman pointed to the right. They walked and walked all night and early in the next moment they arrived. Soon men and women wept as they embraced their husbands and wives. Then they went into their tents.
“What is it?” The leader of the tribe asked.
“What was that tribe?”
“The Bad Tribe.”
“Where were their children?”
“Every twelve years they have a festival. Where they capture us and others of other tribes then take their own children below twelve and eat them.”
Her face dropped as she looked down and nodded as the penny dropped. The very thing that she was not ready to think about finally was confirmed.
“Now, do you know if there is a doc here to get off this isle?”
He nodded.
“Keep going in the direction you were going. You will get there.”
Yet they all celebrated as Leonardo painted the place and then, once the paint dried, they left for the doc.
