Strena The Vengeful Ones Part Two
The Inn
Strena put her quill down. She took a quick glance at Chashathrophogh to see if he was still asleep. She let out a slight sigh of relief as she could. Then turned back at what she had just written and quickly used her magic to dry the ink before she put her journal away. Then she was about to smile.
“Sooo, was that magic there?” Purred a voice that was far too close to her ear.
She let out a squeak of a scream as she punched Cerpheres in his face.
“What’s going on?” Chashathrophogh moaned.
“N-nothing!”
Cerpheres chuckled lyrically.
“I just gave our little lady a scar, that’s all!” He sang.
“Then stay away from her!”
He pressed his lip up and looked at him like he was a cute animal.
“I’m afraid not! After all,” He hugged her and rubbed her head like she was a dog. “Just like little dear you, she’s interesting too!” She started to push away slightly but he was too strong and grabbed both her shoulders and presented her like a trophy. “There is so much greatness hidden away in her. To think that she’s only just a child and she has shown such greatness! It’s rather exciting!” He dicked behind her and chuckled.
Chashathrophogh pulled her out of his hands and put an arm around her protectively.
“Yes and because she’s a child that just so happens to be the niece of my best friend which is why I want you to stay away from her!”
He took a step forward with a daring look in his eye.
“Make me!” He spoke, licking his lips.
“Alright you two, time to get some breakfast! Chash, weirdo, it’s too early for that.” Zaryb moaned. “Strena, get something out!”
He looked at Zaryb.
“She’s not your slave Wolfox!”
“It’s alright. I’ll get on with the cooking.” Cerpheres purred.
“I’ll help!”
“Not without me!”
Soon Cerpheres, Strena and Chashathrophogh cooked breakfast. As soon as they finished Bash and Zaryb cleaned everything up and soon they traveled as they could. They did not stop unless they knew that they had to. Yet the breaks were short and they rested as long as they needed to and soon they were back on the road. The longest break was lunch. Soon evening was upon them.
They came to an inn the moment the sun had started to set. It was isolated on the road with three floors, including the ground floor. With the upper floors sticking out from the lower. The windows had rose stained glass windows. In the centre was a small green door. In front of the inn was a pole with a man in bed with a bag in front. Under the painting were the words.
Traveler’s Rest
“So, should we check it out?” Cerpheres asked.
“No.”
“But it looks soo interesting!”
“No!”
“We need a good rest and wash though!”
“Fine!”
So they all walked to the door and soon booked a room.
“Bash and Strena, you’ll be in room forty eight. We will be in forty nine.”
“Right.”
So they soon arrived in their room which was a small room with one bed at the door and another by the window. To the right was the bath and bucket. They soon boiled the water and got a wash. Then they went to bed.
“Are you alright?” Bash asked.
She curled herself up as far as the bed would allow her.
“You’re born out of wedlock, aren’t you?” She asked bluntly.
She flinched. Her eyes softened.
“Thought so. Don’t worry. I won’t tell, as I have already said.”
“Do you really think…when he finds out…”
“I don’t know.”
“Will he?”
“No.”
That was when Bash looked down to see a pink smoke rising from the bottom of the door. She looked at Strena. She noticed that she was closest to the door. That was when the glass beside her broke. She was hit by something and was on the floor. She held her breath as she knew that the pink smoke was a bad thing, whether or not it would kill or knock her out it did not matter.
She looked up and saw a shadowy figure go immediately for Strena, completely ignoring her. His blade came down and he was inches away from being stabbed as she could feel his foot hit her, making her breathe in the pink smoke and all went black.
Strena woke and looked down to see Bash had been knocked out cold. She then dived back away from the shadowy figure. She quickly pulled out Darkector and Orion. She then pointed the tip at him. He dived back.
She charged on and was about to flick them at him, but he blocked them with two daggers. He kicked her in the stomach. She was flung back and flicked her legs back then jumped off the wall. She then flung Orion at him. He blocked and she went to drive Darkector into his gut. He spotted this and he kicked her in the side and she picked up Orion. She then jumped off the window ledge. She flung one blade to his right and then went to his head. He then kicked her away.
Right, now I know what to do.
She bounced off the door and flicked one at him. Then she went to stab the side. Then she saw the foot then she flicked the blade at his shin, cutting it as deeply as she could. He then dived back in shock in his brown eyes. She landed with a crunch. She kept her blades out almost like a hawk.
She looked up at him with determination. She then jumped to him, spending no time to speak, or take a breath. She took one strike. This was blocked. She took another. This too was blocked. She took another and this was blocked. Another, blocked, another, blocked. Then she felt a strike to the left. She was back on the ground. She held her breath.
“Why?” She asked, feigning weakness.
“I am a Shinobi for higher.”
“From where? If I’m gonna die anyway, why keep it secret?”
“Yamigagé of Animéga.”
She nodded as she quickly stabbed him in the calf. Before he could recover she jumped up and dug her blade into his side.
“Who hired you?”
“Ahken Naaken.”
“Who is that?”
“Someone who wants to see the heir of the Zuvé Empire dead.”
“Why? Also why are you-”
Then she heard the click and he fell. She fell in the pink smoke and was soon out.
The next day both took a bath and burnt the corpse before getting their breakfast.
“We have a problem.” Bash declared.
“Yes. I-I was attacked by something called a Shinobi for hire.”
“A rogue ninja, but?”
“What’s a ninja?”
“I’ll explain later, keep going.”
“Well he was hired by a man called Ahken Naaken. Who’s that anyway?”
Zaryb narrowed his eyes and became pale.
“One of Nazin’s rivals. He used me to wipe out his entire bloodline. After, he took his empire and fought and left him for dead.”
“Looks like he didn’t. Shame, he should have chopped his head off or something!”
They all looked at Cerpheres, warningly. He shrugged.
“What? That’s what I would’ve done!”
“No, you would have done it slowly and enjoyed it in a questionable way, breaking him into nothingness!”
He licked his lip slowly.
“Oh, you know me so well!”
He rolled his eyes.
“Anyway! I think we ought to get back on the road. It would be better if we put as much distance between here and us as possible.”
“Good thinking.”
“I was trained well!”
“I bet you were.”
“Stop it!”
“Make me!”
Chashathrophogh and Bash hit him.
“Just eat your fill in silence!”
“Alright!”
Soon they finished, paid and left.
