The Nine Dragons The Life Dragon Part Eight
Spreading Truth
Loc went to the group. It was the following day and she was able to get herself cleaned that she had been in a long time. She felt calm and refreshed. She could feel that the atmosphere was different. All the statues of Paradtopia had been taken down and people were eating small portions.
That was when a group of women walked up to her.
“We need to go throughout the town.”
“Why?”
“We may know the truth but not everyone here does.”
She nodded. Even though she wanted to leave this place and fight the next army and get this over and done with. Yet she knew that she had to do this too. She understood that she could not leave as she, while all the others here, was a witness to all the dragon had done.
“Alright. But the moment that we have I will have to leave.”
“So do we dotty eyes.”
She rolled her eyes and nodded.
“Right. Then there is not a moment to lose!”
They all looked at the map of the whole Kingdom of Paradtopia. It was an island that looked like a fairy with the tail of a dragon. She noticed that they were all at the tail and she noticed that the next town was at the root of the tail. Where Paradtopia City was with her castle were located on the head.
“Let’s start at the top of the arrow tail. We will then move to the corners and go right. You all can stop whenever you want but I will continue until this is all done.”
“Not even for sleep?”
“No.”
“No. Get some sleep. After all, if you go throughout the land all night, you will not be as effective as you should be.”
“Yeah and of all of us here, you look like you need it the most.”
She frowned.
“I do?”
“Yes.”
She nodded as she looked to the side.
“Right… Then as I have said, there is no time to lose.”
So they quickly made their way to the arrow point. Yetz even though the grip of Paradtopia had been on this place for a long time, it was still a beautiful place nevertheless. She just could not help but be in awe of it. Yet she just could not fathom how such beauty could come from such an evil and deceitful creature. Part of her hoped that they would keep it so regardless of where it came from.
She saw a clocktower with strange numbers. The first three looked like Roman numerals on their side but at different lengths with the fifth number looking like the third with two diagonal lines. The sixth looked like a stick man without a body line with the seventh looking like a lowercase t with the tenth in the shape of a plus.
They arrived at the first door at eight o’clock. She knocked on the door.
“Hello.”
“Urm…”
What do I say?
I don’t know, just do it.
“My name is Loc and I’m here to tell you all about what yesterday was all about.” She said before telling the person.
“You are having me on! There’s no way that’s true!”
“It is.”
He shook his head.
“No. You're just here to trick me into being a prostitute like my mum tried to!”
“No. Just look into the mirror. You will see it for yourself.”
“Shut up!”
“Fine! First look in the mirror, after all, I don’t have time to spend arguing with you!” She said before knocking on the next door. She said the exact same thing. The woman nodded. Yet she looked at the man with a shy smirk.
“Thank you. Does that mean that we can marry too?”
“Yes.”
She, again, looked at the man still shyly but there was an excited look in her eyes. So she moved onto the next one and told them. She did this again and again and again. By lunch she had cleared the first row. They ate a ham and lettuce sandwich before they moved onto the next row and the next rowand the next one. By that time it was time for tea. They ate another sandwich before they moved onto the row beyond that. Then after another two rows it was time for bed.
One of the women took her by the arm and pulled her into her house and made sure that she got a goodnight’s sleep, regardless of her protests. The following morning she made sure that she got a good portion of soup, which was slightly bigger than the day before.
Then they went on their way and made their way from where they left off the day before. They moved on to telling row after row after row. By lunch they had done five rows and then fifteen more before tea. Yet soon they split and were able to cover fifteen more before bed.
On the third day they finished their work.
