Doormaze Drage Blood World Part Two

 Shockwave

They looked up at the sky, it was just like that guard had said, it was different shades of red. She looked at the red grass and roads. She looked at the others as their stomachs growled.

I should have made sure to get some food. She thought as she looked at Burn.

“Can you magic up some food?”

She shook her head.

She shook her head.

“Nevermind that, we need to get some shelter.” Coalmine remarked.

“Where? Who’ll take us in?”

“I don't know, but we do need to find a shelter as soon as possible.”

“Got any ideas?”

“Keep moving and keep an eye out.”

They walked in and saw the scarlet grass. Doormaze wondered if it tasted nice. They looked back as they walked and walked as their hunger grew. Yet they managed to ignore it for a whole day as they walked on and on. They had to put as much distance between them and that place as they could. They walked and walked. She could feel that her legs were about to give way from under her. Yet she kept walking and walking. She knew that none of them could afford to stop. So she did all that she could to continue and not complain.

“I think that we need to take a break here.” Said Burn, finally.

“No. We can not afford to.” Both Doormaze and Coalmine said at the same time.

They looked at each other.

“That was strange.”

“I agree.”

So despite their aching legs and their starving stomach they continued until the sky had become deep crimson. They soon had to sit down where they were when they knew that they could no longer go on. They looked up at the sky. They looked upon the purple stars in the sky. She knew it was not only night, but they were still out in the open.

“So what can we eat?” Doormaze asked.

“Well…there is the grass.”

“Is it edi-”

Doormaze reached out to the blades of grass and to pluck it until a hand grabbed hers.

“Are you mad?” Asked the one that the hand belonged to.

She looked upon a man with scarlet skin and crimson eyes and hair.

“What?”

“That grass is not edible.”

“How come?”

“Because all the wild grass and plant life have been genetically altered to kill anyone who eats it.”

“What?”

“Genetically altered.”

“Meaning?”

“Changed on a biological level.”

“Oh.”

“Why is that?”

“It is by that tyrant Tytoths, who wanted to take over the world. No, he wanted to own everything and anyone in the world leaving everyone else with a soul nothing. So he changed them and somehow he succeeded.”

“When?”

“About fifty years ago. How can you not know this?”

“We’re not from this world.”

“And we've only just arrived.”

He looked at them completely shocked.

“What? You mean…It's true? That there are other worlds out there?”

“Yes.”

His eyes suddenly lit up.

“Come with me.” He said as he almost pulled the group to a strange vehicle that was red and flat.

“Get on.”

“Where?”

“Just sit.”

Doormaze set foot in it which moulded to get shape. Then she felt something grip her. She looked up and frowned.

“What is this?” Coalmine snapped.

“It’s-”

“Not important. The only thing that we need to focus upon is getting the shard of the Reality Sphere and taking down the evil stronghold of this world.” Coalmine snapped.

“Can you help us after we have had something to eat?”

“Doormaze, you are far too trusting.”

“I don’t know about that, but I’m pretty sure I can help you take down Tytoths.”

“Good. That’s the main thing.”

“We can look for the shard later.” She told them as they turned to the man. “I’m Doormaze Drage, this is Coalmine and Burn.”

“Crystoh.” He said as he shook their hands.

They all sat upon the slab and the slab sealed them all in and kept them safe as they zoomed faster than they could see. They wondered how fast they were going and how they were not flying out of the thing. Then it came to her, they must use some advanced technology. Doormaze wondered how it worked despite knowing that it would ultimately not matter. They would not be spending much time here so there would be no point asking.

She looked up at the sky to see that it had turned dark maroon now and the purple stars were now very bright as they arrived at a strange location. They looked at what seemed to be a steel shack in the middle of nowhere.

“Why have you brought us here Crystoh?” Coalmine snapped.

“This is our base of command. I hope that the people here can help you find what you are looking for.”

They nodded as they seemed to roll out and walked in.

“Steephone. I have some special guests.”

A woman with maroon skin and crimson eyes and hair walked through the door.

“Crystoh, I swear if it is one of those idiots that you help -”

She looked up at them and her eyes widened and her legs gave way.

“Oh my! Their skin is white! It’s white! How’s it white?”

“We don’t come from this world.” Explained Doormaze.

At this she fainted. Crystoh divided and caught her before she hit the ground.

“Greygor! We need your help!”

That was when a man that looked like Steephone walked in.

“I can’t believe it! Thiabis the third faint this week! My sister have-”

She looked up at the threw girls.

“Oh crute! Now, I can see why.”

Then a woman walked in that looked like Crystoh rushed in.

“Yeah. Now help me get her down the stairs. Cherra, good you came at the right time. Quick, call the rest. We have a lot to discuss.”

“Oh. Why?” She took a glance at the tryo. “Oh! On it!”

Within an hour they were sitting around a table, digging into a meal. It tasted tarty with different shades of red. To them, it was the best thing that they had in a long time. Which they are before they even knew it.

“Thank you for that!”

They smiled.

“So, what now?”

“Well, we need to take down the stronghold of this world and find the next shard of the Reality Sphere. Unfortunately, we only have one.”

“Why?” Asking Cherra.

“Because I have to get home.” She said as she thought about her father, sister and friend.

She hoped that they were alright. She hoped that they were alive and as well as they could have been in their current situation. It was in that moment that ur struck her; she did not know how long she actually had.

“Alright. Then I think that we need to get you the main base of operation. There, I think that our main leader will help you.”

“Who’s that?”

“My father, Guges, he was the one that named me after his God.”

“Don’t you worship him too?”

He shook his head.

“Not until today.”

“Why?”

“Because I did not believe in the existence of the other worlds. I think-”

They heard a knock on the door. They all became silent and alert. Soon the three were being pulled back and a rug was pulled back, revealing a trap door. Then the banging on the door became louder.

“We are rearranging the furniture! We will be with you in a moment once we get these chairs out of the way!” Shouted Chrystoh.

Yet even though Doormaze would have asked why he said this until they were being pulled down and forced into a trap door. They all climbed down the ladder and quickly and quietly as they all could. They did not know how far they had to go but it was really long. She thought that the ladder would go in forever until they reached the wooden balcony. Chrra flicked on a torch which provided little light, but enough to reveal an old lift.

“Get in!” She whispered.

They did and with a few buttons they were soon descending at a slow pace. Their stomachs dropped to hear the swinging of hinges. Cherra turned off his torch and the lift stopped. Suddenly the group lowered into their fighting stances. Then the doors opened revealing a long cave-like tunnel. Lit only by red illuminescent light.

“Come on.”

They then walked on and on. Then Cherra heard a sound go off. This made everyone jump and Doormaze squealed. She then pulled out a red stone on it was a crimson button. Soon they were looking at crimson words.

Go on. I will stay.

She put it away in her pocket and turned to the group.

“We need to run.”

And they ran and ran until they were out of a mountain side and came to a house. Cherra walked in.

“Handerc. We need to use the cave.”

A woman looked at them and nodded.

“But first you need to sleep.”

During the girl’s sleep people all over took out their own red stone and saw a photograph of the girls and under the photograph was writing.

They are not from this world.

Hope soon followed.
