Victims of Mortyamikira First Year Part Seven
The Seventh Victim
Kurin was a prince that would one day inherit the throne of his planet. This was a fact that many, many people reminded him often many, many times, especially his father, King Kurin the second. However regardless of this, there was just one problem, he never saw himself as king. In fact he never even saw himself ruling anything or anyone! This had always troubled him and his father for the people of this planet, it was seen as a bad omen.
In order for him to start to make him see himself as a king he would always ask him what he sees in his future. He would always look up at the sky in dread. In fact, he was always terrified of the sky. There was just something about it that scared him so much but he never knew or understood why.
He wondered if this meant that they would be invaded by another planet or something. The king just could not bear to think that there would be another sky war. The last one has almost cost them their planet. He just did not want to have to see more of his people die for freedom and price, or see more orphans crying. Most of which he had adopted to ensure that they were taken care of and happy. Well as happy as one can be without their parents. Still, they had brought happiness to him and the prince.
However, Prince Kurin, like most of his people, had the ability to see into the future in their dreams, and what he saw, he anything but liked. Which was him, being killed by a star in the sky. A new star and he could feel that this year was the year that this new star would appear. This was why he did everything that he could to not have to look up at the sky.
His father would see him walling up weeping.
"Oh what's wrong with you boy?" He shouted one night after he had had enough.
"It's tonight!" He wept.
"What?"
"I die! I see the star and I die!" He wept.
"Enough of this nonsense! Stars can't kill people!" He shouted as he forced his son look up and within the hour he saw his own son die in his hands. He knew that it was the star to blame.
