Strena The Dark Gods Part One

 A Southern Continent

Strena looked at her journal and, just to find an escape, wrote down a new entry.

It has been four months on the sea. The

time has been nothing but a horrendous

series of events after the other. The fifty

five men and women have all cut out time

in half. Which is a good thing. Yet I know

know that the hard part is yet to come.

“Are you really writing in a journal, little girl?”

She let out a scream as she dropped the quill. She looked to the right.

Calm down girl.

Why?

Because of him.

“Oh? Still don’t know what is going on?”

Don’t cry, don’t cry. Don’t let him see your tears.

But I already have.

Be brave!

“Why?”

“Strena, it’s time to go.” Chashathrophogh said as he unlocked the door and the moment that she walked out he grabbed her hand.

“Do I have to go? I don’t-”

“We will keep a close eye on you. Now, don’t let go of my hand.”

She nodded and tightened her grip. They walked up the stairs. She felt a jolt of ache as the sun hit her eyes, which she had not seen in a while. She had to shield them slightly with her free arm. She could feel the dry heat as they walked on and on and down the stairs.

She had noticed that her skin had become paler again. Yet she did not want to focus upon that as they walked down the ramp and then looked on to see the marketplace. It was brimming with people of all kinds of hair colours and skin tones walking to the nearest man at the doc. He looked down at the registrar and at the man.

“Tell me, have you seen a Dark Lord and Dark Lady with the names Gajellidor and Grasharlo?”

The man looked down to see an emerald coin. He raised his eyebrows. He sighed as he flipped up two more. At this he smiled and took one but Chashathrophogh kept the last two behind. Quickly he looked down at the book.

“Nope! They have not left yet!”

He gave him the emerald coins.

“Oh! Tell me, are you-”

He pulled out a note from his drawer.

“Bash, Chashath-” He let out a huff. “Cha-sha-thro-phogh, man that name! And Cerpheres, Strena and Zaryb?”

“Yes.”

“Well I was told that you would come and get told me, to tell you, that there are powerful gods and goddesses of darkness and evil here.”

“What?”

“Why are you telling me this?”

“I don’t know!” He shrugged. “But I was paid well to tell you it. Now go. You’re holding up the cue.”

He nodded as they walked on.

“Why would he?”

“You know what, why don’t you explain it? I’ve got a job to do and the moment that is done, I am going straight to the toilet! Honestly you have ONE good drink and the following day you need to go every hour!”

He let out a sigh.

“He wants us to go after them. No. He’s down right challenged us to do it.”

“Aaaannd?” Purred Cerpheres.

He let out a huff.

“Oh! COME ON! THOSE WERE MY FAVOURITE TROUSERS!”

“If we go after them, then we will agree to spend no less than an hour to do it!”

“Ah-greed!”
