Bounty Hunter Bash Location Lock Part Two

 Surviving The Monsters

It had been one full day of gathering both wood for a raft and a fire when the sun came down. Bash and Chashathrophogh lit the fire and looked at the wood. They all used their magic to fuse the wood together. Then they looked at the pouting Cerpheres as he gutted and put the fish he caught on a stick near the fire and let it cook away.

“So, when do we set off?”

“Tomorrow, first thing. Mermaids and mermen are usually busy eating or coming round from sleep during that time.”

Both nodded.

“You know, you sound like Zarry, right now. What's wrong? You feeling alright?” Teased Chashathrophogh.

They soon started eating.

“Nah! It’s just something I noticed when I was Captain.”

They nodded.

Yet as they ate, they noticed that the shop had not moved all day. Yet as they looked at it, Bash could not help but think of Strena.

“Do you think that she will be alright?”

Chashathrophogh narrowed his eyes.

“I don’t know. But I do know that when these cuffs are off I can’t leave her alone with him.”

Bash nodded.

“So we stay with them anyway?”

“Yes. Or, at least, I will.”

Bash nodded. She opened her mouth to speak but quickly closed it when she heard something rustling in the bushes.

They all looked behind them to see nothing more than an owl looking at them. Yet there was something odd about the animal. The head was just too big, the eyes too. As they looked down they saw that there was a humanoid female body, covered in feathers.

“Food, food, food!” It cooed like a normal owl before she dived at them.

Bash felt the beak nip into her arm and grabbed her as she pulled the chunk out with his beak, pulling back with the neck muscles. She dived back as she outstretched her arms and jumped up and dived at her. Revealing the feet of an owl. She dived at her as she pulled out her bow and fired at her. She landed in a mess of sand and feathers.

“What is that?”

“I don’t know!”

“Maybe it’s an experiment of some sort?”

They looked at him.

“Who?”

“Well it’s not one of mine so early day Dark Lord and Lady stuff?”

They all raised their eyebrows.

“I’ll have a look.” He purred as he pulled out a small blade to have a look inside.

“Yeah! It seems like it really is Dark Lord and Lady stuff. It seems that they fused the body of an owl and a woman together.”

They drained of colour as they nodded. Yet, as they looked more into the creature, they could not help but feel watched. Bash turned her back to them and looked at the jungle as Cerpheres hummed to himself as he dissected the owl woman and to the jungle ahead of them.

She looked around the darkness to see that there were a pair of amber reptilian eyes looking directly at them.

She went to fire at it only for it to fall. She looked down to see that it was a crocodile man. Yet she knew better than to move from the beach. So as the men examined the owl woman she used her magic to pull it in.

“Here, it’s another one.”

“Good girl!”

“Right.”

She looked around to see another set. She shot at it and a lizard woman dropped. She looked around to see another one, that was a crow man. Her eyes sharpened as she looked around to see that there was none coming. Yet the feeling of being watched did not move. So she kept her eyes trained on the darkness.

Yet as the hours went by, Cerpheres had finished examining the corpses of the strange monsters that she had taken down, they all started to feel sleepy. She did not dare to close her eyes for one second. Yet as the moon passed midnight and on to three in the morning, she spotted that Cerpheres was already asleep. This was followed by Chashathrophogh.

That was when half past three arrived and she heard a low growl. Then a flash if black dived at her. She fired at it and it rolled by her. She spun and flicked at the creature to reveal a panther woman. She had her arrow in her paw. She roared as she dived at her and went to slash at her, left to right again and again and again. She dodged each and every one of them. That was when the head dived to her neck. Quickly she dived down and back. Yet the moment that she landed, she saw her already in front of her.

She sent a ball of fire at the stomach then pushed her on but this only dragged her back slightly. Yet she felt the claws in her back. She pulled out an arrow and dug it into her stomach. She let out a roar and she was able to push her off her.

That was when two blasts hit the panther woman. She turned back and growled. Yet the fur on her back was harmed! Quickly she was able to take this moment to fire a shot at the head.

“So. Magic does nothing to them?”

“Seems so.”

Cerpheres healed her wounds.

“So why did your hair change when you left? I mean I saw your old wanted poster of when you were twelve and you had fiery red hair!”

“It changed between when I was twelve and thirteen.”

He nodded.

She then yawned and fell asleep and the sun came up.
