Bounty Hunter Bash Unlocked Part Eleven

 Across The Sea

The moment that they got on board, they set off to search for Gajellidor and Grasharlo. They started on the deck. Yet, even though the ship was significantly smaller than the last ship that they were on, they knew that it would take a very long time to search the whole ship, a day and a half without sleep at least. So they looked at each and every one that even remotely looked like them, which were seven women and five men. Yet the cheekbones were either higher or lower, or they had different eye colours or thicker or thinner lips. Some were just too pure to be them.

Bash was about to open her mouth to find out if they were the Dark Lord or Lady in disguise, only to see a large squad tentacle rise up. It was smaller than the kraken that they had faced but it was still bigger than the giant squid.

“Ex-”

That was when she heard a burst from behind. She looked back to see another! Quickly she drew and loaded her bow and fired at the back of the tentacles. The tentacles drew back and she saw another one and fired at that one. She looked on to see that there were more that swarming the decks. The next thing she spotted more rising at the front of the hull. She quickly fired at that one. The next thing she heard was a scream. She looked back to see a woman being dragged beneath the waves. Then she saw the face of Kitsuné Ryu on Strena look at her with a smirk. Then she heard another and it was a man being dragged beneath the waves. The next moment she saw the Wolfox was in charge of Zaryb’s body. Then she looked for Cerpheres.

"Knock them out!” She shouted.

“Make me!”

“Look, the more that they kill the more of their greatness dies along with the victims of the demon kings inside them!” She shouted before another scream rose up and she only just fired at the tentacle. Yet the moment that she fell Kitsuné Ryu flicked up a dagger and her body curled up as tears started to fall down her cheeks.

Yet Bash fired at one tentacle after the other.

“Leonardo! Knock them out!”

Leonardo pulled out a small ink bottle and raced to Strena and pressed the opening against under he nose. She was asleep the next moment. Then a tentacle went for him and she fired a fire tipped arrow at it. She willed the fire to spread down the tentacle and bubbles rose from beneath the waves. Then the tentacles started to fall back. Bash looked down to see that the kraken was nothing more than a baby! She felt shock sink into her like a rock.

The next thing that she spotted was the baby sharks approaching the baby kraken. The next moment they dived at it. Soon blood and bubbles rose up and all Bash could do was look on in horror of what she was witnessing. She was so gripped by shock that she could barely move a muscle. Her eyes dropped to Strena.

Was she taught to do that too? How old was she when she took her first life? Did she have the same reaction in doing the morbid attack? Does she feel the guilt of all that she has done?

Was it her choice?

That made her frown as they sailed further and further away from them. For the rest of the day, she was haunted by this. Yet the sun came down and she barely registered the people going beneath the decks.

“Bash?”

She looked up.

“We need to get to our rooms before-”

“I sing to the thrice born to be,

Twice death hangs over thee,

Life anew thou shall see,

Thine sacrifice sets it free!”

She pulled out her bow and fired at the origin of the voice.

“What’s wrong?”

“I sing thou destined deathless one,

Death will come by my breast,

The cruelly rejected dear son,

Thought shall fail his twisted test,

Where thou came he shall go,

Both eclipsed in deep dark sorrow!”

Chashathrophogh loaded his bow and fired at the siren. Then he saw ten sirens, looking at them with hunger in their eyes and saliva trickling down the corners of their mouths.

One opened her mouth and she fired at her. The next was hit by Chashathrophogh. Then she fired at two and he fired at three. She narrowed her eyes as she fired at three.

“Looks like you win!”

She let out a chuckle.

“Seems so.”

Then he saw four and fired at them all.

“Look like we’re even, dear niece!

Then she saw one and fired.

“Draw again!”

Then Chashathrophogh saw another and fired at her. Before she could find another, they sailed away.

“Looks like you win, dear uncle!”

He let out a chuckle.

“Seems so!”

She yawned.

“Time to get to bed. Don’t worry. Zarry and Strena are both in their beds.”

The next morning Bash had bags under her eyes. She had spent the entire night about how the baby kraken was eaten by the baby sharks.

Nature is dark. Why is nature so dark? It seems like it doesn’t care about what you are, only if it can be eaten. Survival is so cold. She thought, among other things.

Yet she was able to get some sleep, just not much. So she was already tired when she saw the ship on the horizon. Her eyes narrowed as it came closer and closer and closer. Her eyes rolled as she saw the Jolly Roger weaving in the wind. It came closer and closer, getting faster and faster. She went to draw her bow and arrow. It came closer and closer and closer as a rapid place. Then it came by them.

“All of you! Turn back and find another way past that wave!” The Captain cried, with a burnt beard and terror in his eyes.

“We don’t listen to pirates!”

“Kill yerselves then!” He cried as he kicked the ship and kept going faster and faster and faster.

“Oh my! He’s in quite the hurry!”

She nodded until she heard screams as a shadow rose up and eclipsed the ship. Then she looked back to see the wall of water in front of her! It was as high as the walls around her kingdom!

Her jaw dropped as she realized that they did not have time to turn away! She knew that if something did not happen, then they would all die!

“Uncle Chashathrophogh!”

He looked up and nodded.

“Strena!”

She, getting ever paler since the possession of Kitsuné Ryu, nodded. She ran to them and Bash noticed that she had lost a lot of weight too.

“What is it?”

Her eyebrows raised as they knitted together.

“Now!”

She ran to her. She opened her mouth to speak but her but his violin was already under his chin. He started playing and they soon felt the surge.

“Now, I part, you pull the water down.”

They nodded as she used all her will to split it in half. She felt a powerful force pushing back against her. She kept it up but each half of the water was like two mountains pushing down on her. She forced herself on and on and on. She quickly felt the strain shoot up. She could feel her body pulsing and her head began to ache. Yet she pushed on and on and on as she saw the water coming down. She still had to push on nevertheless.

She felt the headache become worse and worse and worse. Then as she pushed on and on her heart increased its beat. As she kept pushing on and on and on the strain on both soul and body built and built until-

SNAP!

The two bodies of water fell by the side of the ship as her head hit the deck. She coughed up blood and her face looked like the dead. The only evidence of her being alive was her body twitching and laboured breathing.

Quickly Chashathrophogh pressed his finger to her throat and felt the fast pulse behind the ice. He covered her body as Cerpheres, his face as scarlet as a tomato and looked like he needed to get in the shade, placed his hand on her head. Soon a little bit of colour returned. Yet colour left his face too.

“This one will take several days and very well chopped food.”

“Why? What’s wrong?”

“She over did it with her magic.” He spoke with his eyes narrowed. “Also, expect a change in her personality.”

He nodded.
