Bounty Hunter Bash Sleep Lock Part Five

 The Dream Creatures

They all walked away from the village. As they did they all looked at Strena, who was slightly taller than she was. Then to Zaryb, who looked less gloomy. In fact, he looked almost at peace.

“So, why are we looking so at easy my dear beauty?” Cerpheres purred, as he draped an arm around him.

Zaryb looked down and smiled.

“I guess that this is the first time in years that I’ve not had Wolfox whispering in my ears. It is rather peaceful.”

“Oh?”

“Yes, and when I find something to get that thing out of you, you will enjoy more moments like this.”

“But what if there aren’t anything that can do that?”

“There is and I will find it.”

He let out a bittersweet laugh.

“Why do you never give up on me?”

He rolled his eyes.

“Do I really have to say?”

“No. I guess not.”

“Uncle Zaryb, once you’re free, what do you want to do?”

He looked at her and his eyes narrowed. He looked at the far distance as he thought for a moment. He carried a deep frown as he looked puzzled.

“Honestly…I don’t know. I never even thought that there was an option.”

He was about to say more when he was interrupted by the sound of a loud roar. They all looked up to see a large bubblegum pink mass with aluminous green horns. Its eyes were glowing yellow with a lime green slit for a pupil. It looked like a fury blob that made it look cute even though its eyes were terrifying.

“Whwt am I looking at?”

“I don’t-”

That was when it opened its mouth to reveal a row of black teeth that looked like the legs of a millipede. Then Bash noticed a light rising in the back of the creature’s throat. Quickly they all dived out of the way as fire blasted out of the creature’s mouth. It turned and was about to release another stream of fire when Bash fired an arrow at its body and set it alight. Quickly it jumped and landed in front of her. Then Strena dived to the side and cut it.

She pulled the arrow out and gave it back to her. She nodded as the girl slashed left to right again and again and again. Bash reloaded the bow again and remembered Grasharlo’s words as she looked at the girl. She could feel her hand move to her. She would have fired if she did not realize what she was doing in time!

She then raised her hand up and fired at the eye of the thing. Then it let out a roar. Strena thrust her blades below the mouth where the chin would have been. It let out a roar and a blast of fire was thrown at her. Bash dived out of the way as she pulled out another arrow. She fired at the fire. This set the arrow alight and it hit the inside of its mouth.

Instantly it burst into flames. Chashathrophogh yanked Strena out of the way and pulled her in as it exploded.

“What in the Demon Realm was that!” Exclaimed Bash.

“A dream creature that dear little Grasharlo made.” Cerpheres purred.

“Think that there are anymore?”

Cerpheres chuckled as he licked his lips.

“Probably.” Zaryb said quickly as he let out a sigh. “She likes to see warriors fight.”

“Oh? Does it turn her on?”

He let out a huff.

“Yes. Yes, it does!”

“Ohhhh! Then she’s definitely related to me. After all, I do too!” He purred as he licked his lips and started to go slightly red. “And the more incredible the fight, the more I do.”

Zaryb became pale as his eyes widened.

“What!?”

Cerpheres chuckled.

“You know, you’re adorable when you look like that!”

“Like what?”

“Like you’re freaked out!”

“That’s-”

He stopped and looked at him, only to see that his face was red and like he had one way too many drinks.

“What in the Demon Realm is wrong with you?”

He licked his lips slowly.

“Do you want to find out?”

Zaryb’s face became pale as he loop his arm around his and leaned in very close.

“After all, you clearly are so, so very great!”

“Get off me!”

He licked his lips as he leaned in closer.

“Make me!”

He took a step back.

“Chash’! Why are you keeping him around?” Zaryb asked with a high pitched voice.

He sighed.

“He’s the only one who knows healing magic. Also he is Gajellidor’s son. So he’s useful. Plus, Cerpheres did I not tell you to do that if and only if he tries to run away? So torment someone else!”

He let out a chuckle.

“Why! My dear Chashathrophogh, are you volunteering?”

“Do you want a punch?”

“I might!”

“Ahhh! Just stop that will you?” He snapped.

That was when they heard a loud cry. They looked up.

“Oh my, what’s that?”

“Your next appointment!”

“Oh? And why is that?”

“You look like you need it more!” Both Chashathrophogh and Bash said at the same time.

He chuckled with a smile.

“But I would miss the chance to see you beauties dance! So no.”

Chashathrophogh rolled his eyes. As he did he was the bird-like creature in the sky. It had bat-like wings with a thin blue body and long, a claw-like beak. It looked down to see that they could see it’s eyes were pink with a red pupil. It looked down at them then dived down.

Soon Chashathrophogh took Cerpheres by the scruff of his colourful coat and then threw him up and used his magic to push him forward. Soon he reached the creature. It opened its beak and was about to bite him when he took out his stars and threw them into the tongue. This closed the beak then he thrust his hand out and grabbed its fur. He pulled himself in, thrust his legs up and pulled himself onto the creature.

Once he was on the back of the creature he punched the creature down. It then flew lower and lower and lower. As it did, it fell faster and faster and faster. Soon they were getting lower and lower and closer and closer to the ground. At the last second he threw the stars at its wings as he jumped off, causing it to collide with the ground. It then got up as he turned around.

“Your turn.” He sang.

“No!”

Yet Bash summoned her bow and fired it at his head. Soon the arrow pierced the skull. Then it fell down.

“Bash!”

“What? I want to get this all out of the way. After all, we need to get to that castle as fast as we can! Which means that we can not afford to waste time on petty things like this.”

“What she said.”

“You’re right.”

“So, out of curiosity, how long do you think that we’ve been asleep?”

Chashathrophogh took a glance at Strena and tensed his eyes.

“I don’t know, it could be from a day to a month or a year. It all depends on Grasharlo. Now, as my dead niece put it, we can’t waste time.” He said as they walked on and on.

They soon came to a long stone bridge. Chashathrophogh looked at the map. Then he looked up and could see the shadow of the castle in the far distance.

“But fortunately, we are coming to the end of this little adventure.” He said as they walked to the bridge.

Then a large shadow landed upon the bridge. They looked on to see a black blob of fur that had eyes that was like white fire. Then fire spread throughout its body and took the shape of arms. Ice shot out from underneath it, taking the shape of legs with a hoof for a foot.

“What is it?”

“Another dream creature?”

“Who cares?” Bash shouted as she loaded at her bow and shot at it. Then the arrow hit but then it went right through it, as if it was not even there.

“What?”

“How?”

“Looks like we have to use our heads for this one.”

That was when Zaryb threw his tiny daggers at it, but that passed right through too!

“So metal does not work.”

Then Chashathrophogh threw several fire balls then shot it at the creature, this was deflected by the fire arm. This told the group that this would be the only thing that would work.

“Bash, Cerpheres, come on!” He ordered before looking at Strena again, his eyes narrowed questioningly.

Yet the three raced at the creature. Bash fired a fire ball at the ice feet. This was swept aside. Then Chashathrophogh nodded as they ran to opposite sides and threw fireball after fireball at it. It deflected each and every one of them.

Yet they came closer and closer but Bash looked at the icy legs and feet only to see that the ice was not melting! Then she shot one after the other and it opened its mouth, revealing the teeth of a piranha. Then it sent out a blast of light and it was going to Strena! Bash threw a fireball at the light, which stopped the light. Then she went to send a blast of fire at the mouth. Yet it closed its mouth shut before it could even hit.

That was when Cerpheres sent a blast of water at the fire and smoke rose from it. He then sent a blast of fire at the right leg. Only for a shallow part to melt!

“Hmmmmm!”

“What?”

“It can be harmed. It can only be harmed by magic that is not part of its body.”

“Good work!”

“See, I am useful!”

Then Chashathrophogh shot a fireball at it again and again and again. Bash did the same thing. Then Cerpheres sent a blast of fire at the legs, wiping them both out. Then it fell.

Yet it bounced up and down. It then bounced out of the way. Then sent a ball of water at it. This forced it to deflect the water. Then Chashathrophogh shot a blast of water at the other arm. Both men kept the pressure upon the creature. Then Bash sent a blast of ice at both arms, putting both arms out. Then the three summoned as bright a light as they could and the creature exploded into black nothingness.

They were able to walk across the bridge and made their way to the castle.
