Bounty Hunter Bash River Towns Lock Part Two
Chase On The Water
The girls had fully shaken off the paralysis and they slowly got up.
“Did they do anything to you?”
“No.”
“What were they going to do?”
“Prefer not-”
“They were about to violate you so that you will carry their babies!”
“Cerpheres!”
At this Bash looked like she was about to kill someone. Yet Strena curled up. Her face was drained of colour.
“In the city of the assassin’s guild. That man, was he about to force me to-”
“No. You were too young to conceive.”
“And am I too young now.”
“No, but it would be too dangerous for you to. Wait until you’re eighteen.”
That was when Bash looked at the river behind the boat. There she saw a group of boats.
“Cerpheres, do you have a telescope?” She asked.
He pulled it out.
“Sure.”
She took it out and looked in it at the boats. She saw one of the men that she recognised as part of the town they all looked at the boat with determination as Cerpheres and Leonardo rowed and rowed and rowed.
She turned to the rest.
“The town’s men are coming!” She shouted.
They looked at the rest of the boats as they rowed and rowed with such ferocity that it was like they were possessed. Soon Bash took out her bow. She lit up the tip of her arrow. She fired at the hull of one of the boats. She did the same to the next one and the next one. During this Cerpheres lit up several pink flames at the men the boots. Yet, as she fired at the boats, they all dived out of them and swam at a rapid pace to the barge.
Why didn’t I think about that? She thought as she heard a scream behind her. She looked back to see that Strena was in one of their arms. She hit him in the eye as Strena pulled out her swords and slashed the throat of one after the other before they had the chance to get to her.
Knowing that she was going to be alright, she returned to her work firing at the heads of the ones in the water. She did this again and again until she was grabbed by two men by the wrist. She jumped and flicked her legs into his loins, only for him to grab her ankles. She saw one coming at her. She willed her arms to become strong and she pulled him in and hit their foreheads with her wrists. Yet the one that had her ankles stink did not let go. She drove a ball of fire into their faces. Then they let go.
Just after one wrapped one arm around her body then he went to her trousers. She dug her ankles into his shins and leaned forward. Soon he toppled over, pinning his hand to her stomach. Then his body became limp. Chashathrophogh kicked the corpse off her.
She scrambled to pick up her bow and scrambled to her knees. She saw one coming at her. She fired at him. She saw another coming at her and she hit him too. She drove on and hit one coming at her and fired at him just as she saw one coming for Strena who’s blades were bloody and fired at him.
She looked back to see more boats coming. So she loaded her arrow and lit the tip and fired at one after the other again and again. She made sure not to miss once. She kept it up again and again the moment that she saw one. Then she felt a hand on her ankle. She hit him and returned to the boats. She felt another, she took a glance, hit, returned to the boats. She felt another, repeated the action. She did this again and again and felt another and another until she fell. Here's head bumped into the deck. His hand pulled her and she was under him. He was about to rip her trousers off until Zaryb came almost out of nowhere and slit his throat. Then kicked him off her.
He then pulled her up.
“Are you alright?” He asked urgently.
She nodded and looked up, suddenly becoming aware of how handsome he was, even with his scar. However, she could not help but think about what Wolfox used his mouth to say. Then she was brought back to reality.
She placed her back against his. She hit one man after the other, keeping as close to him as she could. She glanced at Strena and Chashathrophogh to see that they too had the same idea with blades in their hands. They all slashed and returned to their backs. She dived out and then returned to his back. So they adopted a similar stratagem. She hit one as Zaryb slashed one after the other again and again and again, not giving any one of them an opening.
Soon they left the swamp. Once they did, the men dived into the water and swam back, leaving them all behind. Yet the slow ones floated to the top, dead.
