Bounty Hunter Bash Isle Heat Lock Part Nine

 The New Ship

They soon entered a small market. The first thing that they did was look at the row of ships for sale. They soon walked to the salesman.

“How much for your cheapest ship?” Chashathrophogh asked.

“What about the strongest?”

“Do we not have magic?”

“I know! What about your most colourful?”

“That’s alright. The most colourful is the cheapest.”

“And how much will that be?”

He pointed to a ship the size of a street and the width of five British houses. The whole ship was painted with all the colours under the sun making the eye water and Chashathrophogh cringe.

“Is there another cheap one? Preferably in black.”

“Yes. But a woman already bought that.”

“Who?”

“I dunno, but she had a man with her and they looked just like him but with crimson eyes.” He said, pointing at Cerpheres.

At this they looked at the man with a mix of shock and alarm.

“And how long ago was that?”

“Three days ago.”

“We need that ship!” Chashathrophogh called quickly, swallowing his pride and cringe.

“It is only one emerald.”

Then they looked at the way.

“Including supplies?”

“Yes.”

He nodded.

“We need more money.”

“Is there any bounties needing to be taken in this place?”

At this he laughed.

“Oh no! It is much too peaceful!”

Bash nodded.

“Creatures needing to be slain?”

“No again!”

Chashathrophogh nodded.

“In that case, Strena, Cerpheres play the violin. Leonardo, get onto painting and sell at least three of them.”

That was when Bash looked at a board.

“We will do that!”

“Who will?”

“Me, Zaryb and Strena.”

“Oh? Can I watch?” He purred, licking his lips and looking at them coyly.

“Fine! But only to keep Strena in the corner of your eyes.”

“Okay!” He sang.

So they walked to the dart board and started playing. Yet Cerpheres kept looking at them like a predator eyeing up his prey. His breathing became strange too. Leonardo painted the entire place, one painting was of the left side of the place, then the right side and the centre of the crowd. Once they were dry he quickly sold them. After he painted them playing their dart game and beating several of the passers-by. Quickly selling them. Then he painted Strena and Cerpheres playing the violin. He was able to sell them for more than that needed. Then he went onto painting all of the ships. The ships were slightly less. As the day wore on and was soon done they all had more than enough.

So they went to buy a more expensive one only for the only one remaining to be the colourful one to remain along with another dark one which spontaneously combust.

“Oh my, what happened there?”

Chashathrophogh gave him a warning look. Then he let out a huff. Then gave the man three quarters of the money to cover for the lost ships.

The deck was pale green with a yellow cabin and blue and purple doorframes. The doors were all painted white. With purple diamonds on. With a floral wall paper in the cabin walls and all the walls in the ship. Yet, much to everyone’s delight the barrels were normal.

Then they came to the kitchen, it was modest but big enough for all of them. Then they all chose their rooms as Cerpheres started steering the ship away from the doc.

Strena rushed up and looked back at the doc to see the isle was getting smaller and smaller.

“Are you alright?”

“Sure. You?”

His nose wrinkled.

“I wanted that dark ship.”

She sighed.

“Me too!’

“’Tsup beauties!”

“Aren’t you supposed to be steering the ship?”

“Nah! The wind’s enough at the moment.”

“Why did you want this ship?”

“Sometimes we need a bit of

colour in our lives. Too much black is just depressing.”
