The Weather Incarnates Gathering
Part Four
Storm
Storm was running like she had been her whole life. Her friends
and family called her David because of her striking resemblance to
David Bowie in the film Labyrinth, apart from her eyes, which were
the colour of an ever moving dark cloud with an ever changing pattern
that moved like forked lightening that seemed to strike the pupil
like the Earth. Well, back when she had friends and her family
had not forced her out of her home when they tried to kill her.
She had ran from her village and had been doing this ever since.
She used to stay in one place for long periods of time, only to find
out why she should not do that. That had almost killed her. It had
been hard for her to find a safe place for her to sleep. This had
caused her to be thinner and shorter than she should have been and
the bags under her eyes gave her a defiant look that scared off other
homeless teens her age so she had learnt to keep to herself and enjoy
her own company.
Then suddenly five months ago she had a suddenly got this almost
irresistible erg to return to her home town, however, she was far too
smart to entertain this. Then as the months had gone on she could
feel that the erg had become stronger and stronger. She knew that as
the months followed she could feel that it would become unbearable
and she would find herself giving into it, despite her self
preservation.
She reached the motorway and looked at the cars that whipped
passed her, however only mildly effecting her hedgehog hair. She
blinked a few times as her long fringe hit her eyeballs. She knew
that moving it out of the way was useless. So she moved to the side
and she flipped out her thumb, hoping to get a ride to the next town.
A red bug pulled up in front of her. She looked into it to see
who was inside. Her eyes widened in shock. Her aunt June pointed a
gun at her and gave her a pleasant smile with her thin red lips. Her
dry blue eyes narrowed in spite. Storm could see her one beautiful
blond hair was now dirty and greasy.
As her eyes looked beside her she could see her uncle Dill. His
once brunette hair was now grey and his grey eyes were now looking at
her with crazed look.
“Get in the car David.” she said with a pleasant high
pitched voice. Storm let a long sigh through her nostrils and found
herself returning the smile. As she climbed into the bug.
“How've you been girl?” Dill asked.
“I have been well and alive. Why, how have you been and
wherever is mother and father?” she asked copying the pleasantries.
“Oh, July and Bill's taking care of these two twins who's a
Weather Incarnate like you.” she explained. “In the village that
mother moved to I believe.”
“Weather Incarnates? Is that why you've been trying to hunt me
down and kill me?” she snapped.
“Yes,we've all been training and let my say, our god know
their stuff!” her uncle exclaimed.
“'Gods'? They are no such thing! They are only here for
vengeance and they hardly care for you!” she scoffed.
“How dare you! You're not worth the dirt beneath their feet!”
her uncle shouted.
“No! They're not worth the dirt beneath my pigs feet!”
Storm laughed. “And the sooner that you realise that the better.”
Then the clouds had become darker and thicker as her anger was
rising. Her June opened her mouth to speak but Storm put up her hand
to show that she was not done.
“And don't you start Aunt June, after all you can hardly deny
that it's rather odd that they have asked you to kill one of your own
and others like me, when if they really were god they could zap me on
the drop of a-”
“Shut up you piece of dirt! You are the reason why they have
no home! And they have told us that, that is exactly what will happen
with this world. You, no, all of you people, are the destroyers of
all the world that you are reincarnated into.” her aunt
interrupted. That was when the sound of thunder banged like God was
playing the drums.
“Oh please how can we? How do you know that? You don't even
know me, you don't even know the others either so how can you trust
those people over your own niece?”
That was when her uncle burst out laughing.
“They warned us, they said that you would try and do anything
to keep yourself alive and to tempt us from believing the truth.”
he commented and soon she saw a gigantic golden light. Storm closed
her eyes. She felt herself lift from her seat. She then heard a
deafening cry. Crash! She was rolling painfully.
When her eyes opened her aunt and uncle's eyes reflected in the
window were open unblinking and unmoving. Their blood flowed above
her head. She looked up to her seatbelt she clicked the belt free.
She fell into the shallow pool and used her legs to crack the screen
and crawled out of the cutting hole. When she spun around and crawled
back and raced away which was struck by lightening causing the bug to
explode.
Her eyes slid to a man dressed in black as he raised a gun to
her. Before she could think she was on her feet and running. She
heard him fire before she felt pain in her arm. She looked back and
could see that he was walking to catch up with her. She soon ran into
a forest hoping to loose him in the trees. When she looked back she
could see that he was still there but at a great distance. Seeing
this opportunity she climbed one of them. She then heard a branch
snap from behind. She looked back, whoever he was had the same idea
as her. Soon their eyes met she could see that his eyes green as hers
widened. She spun and jumped across to the tree opposite and hugged
the branch as she spotted the man just two trees away!
She could hear the drums of thunder and knew that lightening was
about to strike. She could see it in her minds eye. She used her arms
to swing to the one that was on the other side. She landed as the
tree that she was on a moment ago was struck and set alight. She
dropped and ran from the fire as the other man also dropped and ran
through the fire not even getting a single ember on him! She was soon
not just running from him but from the fire too! She ran and ran as
her already hurting lungs started to fill with smoke. She could feel
a fit of coughs coming from her throat which she had to suppress as
her eyes stung releasing a stream of tears on her ash coating face.
As the fire grew and the smoke clouded her vision it became
increasingly difficult to know where the man was.
She soon found herself out of the burning forest and being
greeted by a gun. Quickly she smacked the hand away as a gun fired
into her shoulder and sat where the bones were rendering it useless.
She kicked him away from her and ran on and found a motorway. She saw
a low street light and started to climb. Using her useless arm as a
grip she climbed like up it. She looked to see where the man was and
he was running as he was she could see that he was limping. She
spotted a lorry coming and timed it and dropped down onto it then she
heard more thunder and lightening struck like crazy. Her vision
blurry the last she saw of the man was being zapped by a bolt as
everything turned to black her hand clutched tightly to the edge...
