Princess Cari Scattered Arc Final Part

The Next Step They both looked at each-other with both relief and unbelief. They both wondered whether or not the other was a hallucination of the heat of the desert or the dehydration. They both approached each-other and reached out and cupped each-other's cheek just to prove that the other was there. They smiled and she embraced him as he frowned almost as if he did not know what to make of this but he then returned her embrace. It felt odd to him as he did, he just never had known a moment like this, yet he knew that this was what he had needed for a long time. At this he hugged her tighter. When they pulled away they looked at each-other and just laughed. They just did not know what to do or say to each-other. They did not know where to start. They just laughed and nothing else. Meanwhile the Observer looked at the Chronicler with a more awkward atmosphere. They looked at the children just to find any distraction to make sure that they would not have to speak to on

The Centaur And The Hydra Cari took her step on the sand of a doc with only one man at a small station, who was still sleeping. She raised her arm to shield her eyes from the intense heat of the sun. It was so hot that Cari found it difficult to believe that people could live here. She could not believe the heat! She was sweating and her skin felt like it was slowly burning. Surely there must be someone else here other than that sleeping man. She thought. She looked at the Observer, who looked as if all of this was normal. She even looked at her as if to reassure her that this was normal. He gave her a nod as if to tell her that it was time for them to go. She then followed him, with a slightly unsure feeling as she did, after all this was the first time that she had even been in another continent. As she walked out of the doc she had the feeling like she was stepping into another world, another culture, another way of life. It felt odd to her as she looked at the

The Sleeping Sand Ryo woke. His wounds were healed. He was still in the cave. H looked beside him, the prophecy pool was now a grim shade of purple-red. He closed his eyes as his body still hurt and he was still tired so he slipped back into sleep. He woke up sometime later as the sent of food entered his nose. So, even-though his mind was still in dreamland he sat up. “Are you alright?” she asked. “Year.” he said as his voiced felt weird like it had not been used for a while. “How long have I been out?” he asked. “A couple of weeks. I collected the bounty, although, I could not move you during the early days thought.” she said “Why?” he asked. “Because you broke out into a fever. I thought that you were ill but something told me that there was something more to it so I left you here, after all you were in a prophecy pool when you got those wounds.” she said. He nodded slightly. “Right.” he said as he came close to the fire as he looked at the scars all over h

The Cave Ryo was glad to be out of the sun, he felt that even-though the shade of the cave was warmer than he was used to it was cool enough for him to be grateful of the break of the intense heat from outside. He knew that he wanted to remain in this cave for until winter here kicked in. He wondered if winter did kick in here. If so, then was that hot too. Probably so. He travelled keeping his back pressed against the cave wall. He knew that, that would be the best place to be, after all if they were in the centre they would be exposed. They also knew that the manticor would most likely than not be able to their footsteps. He also knew that if it was the same size of a lion then it would be difficult to kill the thing. He started to wonder what the Chronicler was talking about when she said that taking it down was easer that he thought. “Trick is to go for the tail.” she said. “If you cut that off then we will stand a fighting chance.” He nodded. “I will then show yo

The Voyage Cari sniffed the salty fresh morning air. Her body had returned to normal. She had put on her clothes on and she took her bag up. She felt the ship bob up and down. The cabin was smaller than the ones that she had been in. This was the first time in a while that she had been on a ship without Ryo or the Chronicler or Scar. She just found it odd, she half expected that they were there in the cabin, in fact she had caught herself looking for them. She then left the cabin and walked up to the deck, where she looked at the horizon. It was daytime, so she could not tell where she was but she could feel that the air was getting hotter and hotter than usual. She even spotted that the ocean and air felt off too. No, it was not because they were travelling to a hotter place. “Tell me, are you alright?” asked the Observer behind her. She turned back to him. “Yeah...It's just something that I have to get used to.” she admitted. She put her hand in her pocket. As sh

The Dry Darkness “Are we there yet?” asked Ryo. “No, not quite. After all we do have quit a while to go.” she said. “Although, we are going to have to go across the Darkness Illusion Desert. So that aught to be the most challenging part for now.” “What? Why would illusions be challenging?” he asked. “You will see, but note, that we are dealing with enchanted illusions, thus they can be very deadly.” she said. She looked at him and spotted that he was sweating, but he still looked quite strong, which meant that she would not have to worry about him just yet. “How come?” he asked. “They are as much real to the one who is seeing the illusion as that person believes it is there.” she said. “What?” he asked confused. “You will understand once you have your first illusion.” she said. He huffed. Like that explains things. “Anyhow!” he said trying to change the subject. “I have something to ask you.” “And I might have an answer to give.” she said mysterio

The Guide And The Witch Cari spent another day as she recovered from the rest of the wounds. “By the way, how long was I out?” she asked. “A good week. Why?” She nodded as she looked down with dread. It will be a full moon tomorrow night. She thought. “Never mind. When will we be setting off?” she asked. “When you are ready.” he said. “I'm ready now!” “Then take a walk.” he said. She slipped out of bed and took a few steps. She felt aching in her legs but she forced herself to go on. Until her legs gave way and he caught her. “Well, looks like for until the muscles in your legs have developed then throughout our journey you are to keep hold of my arm. Now I am going to pack.” he said. “Now take a seat Bash.” She looked at him confused. “'Bash'?” she remarked. “Sorry, you look identical to her, well apart from you white eyes.” he said. “Now I am off packing.” There he left her as she looked around the house. She had this curious taste

In The Desert Ryo found that he could not move a he slowly woke up. His eyes rested on a yellow-cream sky. No, that was the ground. His head moved up and as he did his cheek felt like it was scratched by something. As his vision became clearer he soon realized that the yellow-cream sky was not the sky, it was sand. He was in a sea of sand. He felt cold and as his movement retuned to him he felt his mouth was dry and had bits and pieces of sand in his mouth, this made his mouth hurt which made the dryness in his mouth just that much more worse. With the salt in the sand it also made his wounds hurt and saw. He looked around, his mind in a blur as he looked up at the sky as it tuned dark purple. His eyes met over a thousand stars that he ha never seen before. He saw other colours like blue and and pink and red and lighter shades of purple and lilac with stars scattered like silver glitter. He had never seen so much beauty and he had never seen anything like this in the skies
